Alternate routes and gameplay modes

I'd like to see a survival option. Time attack would be cool. A story mode would also be great. Depending on whether or not you finished opponents with a fatality or not would deped on what happens later on. The opponent might come back for revenge or something.
Also, on arcade, again dependant on the fatalities, you could take a different route in fights. For instance, if the CYD towers were brought back, you'd have three people per level, but you'd fight only one depending on what you did.
For example - first level, Cage, Raiden, Kung Lao. you get the option to choose who you fight and you pick Cage. On the next level would be Fujin, Sonya and Bo Rai Cho. If you use a Fatality onnCage, you'd fight sonya because she'd be pissed, if not, you fight one of the others. This probably wouldn't work, but who knows? lol
So what gameplay modes do you want to see and what could they do in game to make the single player mode more interesting?

Hmm... reminds me a bit of the killer instinct system, where depending on who you kill or spared determined your ending and if it was good or bad.
I always did like the towers, but I don't think they were executed right. I mean, there wasn't much gain in beating the largest one over the small one(at least that I could remember). You should get something damn good by beating the the great tower. Without motivation, the system fails. I think what would really be awesome is to have a different boss at the top of each tower, with a different ending as well(same sub-boss of course).

I didn't actually know that that system affected the ending on KI!
But your right about the motivation. All you got for the largest tower was a few more icons to pick from. I like the idea of different bosses at the end of each tower. It adds variety and then there would be no need to make any tower longer than another. However, there should be more to gain than just a different boss fight and a different ending. A few unlockables could become rewards, but only on certain difficulty settings.

I can see it working.
As for modes, id love to see the practice mode in mk4 return...with all those mega options.
An endurance mode would be nice, 2-on-2, 3-on-3, or even 2-on-1 etc.
Multiple endings, depending on the way we play story mode, for example if like tgrant said,
Jax fights cage 1st and does a fatality on him, then kills sonya the next round....he'd have a say a 'bad guy ending, whereas if he kill a bad guy, he'd get a 'good guy' ending etc
There is already a cooler threat here:

Nindz - AN endurance mode would be great. They could incorporate it as an ultimate survival modea dn have several options to change the way it is played, so that the number of opponents you face never have such a heavy advantage.
