I just recently came up with a new idea for a throwing system which would make use of the reversals. As we all know the reversals in MK:DA sucked pretty bad, but this time we could actually use them to do a throw, this is how it would work: The reversal would be available for every character. Instead of only "stunning" the oppenent like the way in mkda when doing a reversal, the character whos doing the reversal will have 2 or 3 seconds to perform a throw. there will be several throws with different button combinations of course. the easiest throw to perform would be like b,b,X or something but it would also be the weakest throw. if you fail to perform a throw within the 2-3 seconds the both fighters will automaticly shove each other and the fight returns to normal.

the throws could also work diffrently depending on if its a punch(arm) or kick(leg) that you are catching in the reversal.

For the opponent, he has a chance to escape the throw if he performs the exact button combo as the thrower.

what do you think?

NOTE: spelling might suck, im from sweden.

Great idea! Although, the reversals allowed you to start a combo for extra damage so maybe so these reversal throws would be better being instantaneous and done as soon as an opponent goes to attack you or something like that.

Good idea, but to be honest, I've seen those ideas in another game (Tekken) before, I don't know whether Boon + Co would want to risk using what would seem someone elses idea, but since you say you've thought of it yourself I guess it's no biggy.

The only difference I can make out from what you've said is you actually input the throw yourself, in the version I've done as Jin for example, once you've timed it right and caught whichever limb it is he'll automatically go into a throw, there's four different throws depending on which limb he catches, and each usually end up having the opponent having a bone or two snaped or a face in their face grin

Reversing a reversal has been done too, it's known as a "chicken" it's pretty basic though, the opponent will just punch you away to make some distance between the two of you.

The idea of imputing the exact same combo might end up with actually reversing the throw being a random affair, if there's going to be as many throws as you say for each limb it's not likely that the throw is going to be reversed. It would be fun at first but after repeatedly guessing the wrong throw it would get a bit annoying.

Pretty good. I like how its actually a button combination for different limbs and not just one button for everything.

However, there shouldn't be such a large time delay. One second maximum. That IS more than enough time.

And as FLSTYLE stated earlier, Namco coined the term "chicken" for a reversal on a reversal.
