An idea on how Jade is unlocked

posted08/10/2004 03:29 PM (UTC)byEverybody knows that Jade is a playable character in MKD, but also locked up in the Dark Prison. Assuming that Jade isn't a default character (meaning that you would have to unlocker her), it would be obvious that to unlock her, you would have to perform a certain task in the Dark Prison level.
The question is that would this be the case? Or she, like all hidden characters, would have to be unlocked in Konquest? I hope it is the first, as this would put a bit more variety and replay value in MKD.
Thoughts?

Maybe the characters eventually become "executed", then they show up in the Krypt for purchase?

I believe that it is likely that Jade was, at the time (when we saw the prison level pics / movies) a character that Boon n' Co. didn't think they would put in the game, and therefore put her in the prison level using her MK4 outfit. Remember that pics and movies released to the public are likely to be weeks, if not months old.
However, I agree that these could be cool ways to unlock Jade and other characters.

mk4 outfit?
rotflmaol
she WASN'T in mk4
I believe that the pics they're showing us are old, I think that the prison has a different character to replace jade or that her cell is empty
I just want them to explain why folks like jarek, reiko, stryker, hsu hao, fujin and drahmin are there, because jarek and hsu hao died (or at least we thought so) and drahmin transformed into something, while stryker, fujin and reiko were busy with their own personal shit
the only one I can figure is kitana, they better explain the rest...

Mabye you have to knock your oppent in to the door of her cell to unlock her then she runs out and you fight her and if you win jades unlocked this would be more like the old school MKs in terms of unlocking characters

I'll go with that. Maybe if you knock your opponent into the cell door a number of times, it'll fly open and Jade will escape.

that would b cool, but no characters were ever unlocked like that before. all in the krypt. so it will be intresting if you can unlock characters by breaking through a certain wall and they are waiting for whoever wins to fight. As for the prison stage i think it would be cool if you knocked your oppeneant into a cell and then the classsic character in their would either grab you to do some damage or would perform a projectile if you got to close. that'd be sweet.
