I'm all for the total-revamp of characters, so to see Scoprion return with heavenly-attributes would be great. I would love to see some of his classic moves retained, however (not that I need to go into detail, but Scorpion without his spear is like a fly without poop).

angelic sounds good. I would love to see scorpion revamped completely. Although like mentioned earlier he must still have his spear and must still be a ninja.

in the world of a fighting game, would it be wise to change a character in almost every aspect? i mean, this isn't a book or a movie or an rpg, where things can be changed that easily. I was thinking that if they changed scorpion, then he would no longer be scorpion...

i think people loved scorpion for everything that he is and maybe if they wanted to make a character with angelic powers, they should use a new character... it'd be quite strange for all of us to see scorpion change drastically...

I always thought the skull under scorpion's mask was the one thing that was special about him. It freaked me out when I first saw the skull in MK1, like I didn't expect it. If you make scorpion with angel powers or whatever, then he's just going to be a human and take away that whole "specter" feel to him. So I say NO. Scorpion should be the same, neutral.

IMO, Scorpion should come back with angelic powers, but not the sense that ur thinking... more along the lines of death himself... that way scorpion would retain his skull look y also having the power to just automatically kill... im thinkin like one of his fatalities being like the ending to the raiders of the lost ark when they open it and the spirit makes them all melt... along those lines... id say that scorpion will definitly keep his spear now that it isnt coming out of his hand anymore...

How about giving him a split personality? He can have both sets of powers. When he's angry, he'll have his demonic powers and when he's happy he'll have his anglic powers. In that way too, his story could change and what he does would be based on his mood.

I think changing scorpion to angelic would be a terrible idea. It have to have a sense to his background, have we all forgotten he is only here to kill sub-zero. Plus, whatever happened to the twist of quan chi killed his family. I dont think that it would be very wise to change scrpion, for if this was to happen he would still have to retain what he was going for. So unless Scorpion is the angel of death. I would not change him.

After MK2 Scorp couldn't have cared less about offing sub. In fact there was a point in time where he oppionted himself as sort of a guardian for sub.

I haven't heard any rumors about Scorp getting down with the light side. Personally, I think it could create great storyline opportunities. What has he been doing since MK1? Trying to kill peeps? It's getting a little old.

As Mr.Satan said - though, he may have been sarcastic, i never know - bringing him back as Hanzo would be outstanding. He could have more of a cross-breed between the light and dark side of his powers.

I'd love to see him take on a more angelic form, maybe get his family involved in his storyline again. Also, just because a character completely changes, doesnt' mean it's a bad thing. T4 Jin is completely different from TT Jin, but there both still cheezy as f*(ck bad-asses.

I really wouldn't buy into a Scorpion with Angelic powers. His whole character is based upon fire and rage and the idea of him coming back with heavenly attributes just doesn't sit to well with me.

I think that Scorpion should come back with the pieced together look, weakened, in bad shape, torn outfit, ripped flesh, and heavy breathing.

i think it would be cool if somehow scorpion escaped that realm and more-less fought his way out and then he would be more pissed off than ever. I say keep him evil

Great thread Ghaleon. However, scorpion wouldnt be the same if they did that. Scorpion is just pissed off n theres no helpin it. It just wouldnt be the same, he's just pissed n evil n i love em. I do think the angelic powers n transformation form evil would be cool in a later kombat, after scorpion has "his own game" like quan chi owned mk4, they need to do that with scorpion, then i think itd be cool

I say keep the skull, give him light powers, so he can still fry people, but in a different way, he could still be out for revenge, just with a different source of power...

oh yea man a Angelic Scorpion what would his moves be.......
FIRST one would be a catering service Sorta liek his spear but instead of a whip people would run out from the sides and offer the opponent flowers
SECOND his shooting star kick of fire that would be replaced by a series of cupids playing the harp towards your opponent and they distract his or her for a few seconds and they you strike with a birage of kittins to soften the blow
FATALITY he would sing Coomb-by-ya til your head blows up

as much as i would like to see certain chars redone (stryker, ermac) MK without a demonic scorpion is like Diablo2 without Diablo

I prefer the angelic scorpion, I mean the guy has been angry from the get go. From mortal kombat 1 he has been all about revenge. He hasn't really grown as a character at all. I like scorpion as he is, but there's only so much of the hatred for everyone who's done him wrong stuff I can stomach.Even sub-zero has moved on from lowly assassin to head of the lin kuei himself. Scorpion is still the same man he was in mortal kombat 1.His story needs to develop.And he himself needs to change. After all in his ending he was taken in by the souls.He can't just come back the same like nothing happened.

Well they had better do something with him. Because he starting to get boring. This is the 6th game for god sake. And look at him. He is practically the same man. All hatred no personality at all. I love him and I think he's cool and all, but he's seriously starting to bore me.And shang tsung has changed by the way. He is still evil but it least he doesn't work for shao kahn anymore. At least that's something.

ok first off, this is just a small nitpicky thing

why does everyone call him STANG Tsung? its been SHANG Tsung as long as i can remember (thats been since MK 1 for Genesis)

and second, why change a great thing like Scorpion, we have enough good ninja's i like having this hellish ninja on a warpath all the time

in the new one he can seek out revenge on Shang Tsung/Quan Chi for dooming him like that

revenge always revenge for scorpion and what not he is always after someone for something that has been done before NOW that is getting old and someone should teach his yellow ass some responsiblilty either that or make him sit this one out
