No chance, MK fighters wouldn't waste time with banter and posing and stuff. They'd get straight to ripping each other's guts out, no questions.

Well, from the gameplay videos, its cool how they kinda start the match....i think that instead, each character shud ave their own victory poses, not like mkda.....fo example, in the end of a match, Mileena cud spin her sais around really fast and then point them on the screen....i got a cool one for Kitana (if she comes back) Kitana can twirl around with her steel fans and get in a pose and fan her self.....but yea, i think that instead each character shud have their own victort pose instead

It would be nice as long as they don't suck. Soul Calibur 2 had horrible entrances. Virtua Fighter and Tekken actually have good lines.

I think it would be better if they have some sort of "salutation" before the match, like they did in MK4.

I know what you mean...actually in MK:D they are bringing back the "pick-up weapons like they had in Mk 4. and I personally think MK4 had the best continue screen ever.

I think the "picking the weapon" thing is cool, as long as you don't drop it everytime they give you a weak punch, kick...etc.

yeah..but i guess they figured that if you had a sword and someone B-slapped you in the face you might falter and drop your weapon..i dunno..i guess they wanted to make mortal kombat as real(well you know what i mean) as it can get.

I said a while ago that they when u impale someone with your weapon that it should stay in or u should have the option of ripping it out before round 2 and that would be a good time to use a taunt like how did that feel bitch or something as there dragging the weapon ripping and tearing the opponet along the way loosing energy for round 2 to add a little bit of attitude plus it would gain u experiance to dodge the impale best u can. And yeah Mk4's continue screen was pretty sweet it would be tight if they had something like that in MKD what about that u guys and or gals like that??

I know that in MK:DA, Kung Lao had a victory pose.
and before that..every 2d mortal kombat had a victory pose. so it wouldnt hurt if midway brought back the victory pose.

i dont like the idea of it happening before every match, maybe only when arch nemises fight each other they would do a small prepperration, but not speak

They should bring back the MK4 style ending videos...because they looked better than the stupid MK:DA endings.

I agree with him. I can't picture any of the MK fighters coming out with a line that they say before they fight. It's kinda cheesy and lame if you ask me.

Now if arch rivals or people that are some how linked say something, sorta like they did in SF Alpha 3, that would be fine. Some should also only be for one of the characters, since both of the characters might not find each other that important and the other does.

Ahh..but the same exact thing your talking about has been done..on Soul Calibur 2. When arch rivals meet each other..a cutscene happens. Its not a bad Idea..but If someone had the Idea first..it seems frivilous to make it as original as the other guy did. Take games like Killer Instinct, and Primal Rage. They had fatalities, but they were not nearly as good and smooth as MK.

First off, talking is a bad idea for an introduction. An MK4 style martial arts salutation is all you need. Secondly, my God, Scorpionskullfatality, can you remain on one subject? I know it's not a big deal, but you had to have gone through at least three different subjects on this one thread. The one at hand, introductions, hos 'cool' the MK4 continue screen is, and how MK: D should have FMV endings.

I just happened to mention them. I know that the original post said what it said. Ill stick to it, dont worry. Its just that, I dunno, it just seems that my original idea , wasnt a good one. But at least thats one of the things that separate MK from other fighters.

I'd like to see an introduction of some kind. The martial arts sequences from MK4 would be best. MKs mysterious feel can remain if the characters do not talk!

Of course there should be talking a little intro sequences.

MK characters are the most lifeless and emotionless characters you will ever see in a fighting game. They don't have unique voices, any they don't have unique personalities or quirks (in game anyway). There's nothing different about any of them, sure you can read about them but personally I'd rather see how they are with my own eyes and ears.

The only characters from DA that had somewhat of a persona you could see was Johnny Cage with his taunts and Jax with his stupid one liners. Both were pretty pathetic in conveying some kind of feeling.

Say what you will about other fighters, but frankly I can't imagine a fighting game without intros. They seem corny but it's what makes me connect more with a character when I know what they are really like.
