No Kitana in MKDeception, sorry.

How are u so sure. I'm not a big kitana fan but still the only confirmed characters are the ones on the select screen. Even then Boon might change it. who knows. we can't really say someone's in it until october 4 when it's in our ps2 or xbox

JadeRocks, you've got half the story.

Not every fighter in Mortal Kombat: Deception can change their weapons or styles. In fact, only the Konquest has this ability as far as anyone knows. Shujinko, the person you control in Konquest, will be capable of using any three styles in the game once you've obtained them in Konquest. :) As for Kitana/Li Mei... No one knows who is or is not confirmed yet. We'll just have to wait and see!

I think Kitana will be in the game, but only as an import character from MKDA.

Also, the girl holding the fans in that pic is Li Mei. That's fact.

Okay, if what you say turns out to be TRUE on October 4, then I'll perform a fatality on Li Mei at EVERY opportunity I get, even against an online opponent!

People have been bitching about Li Mei "stealing Mileena's sais" in MKDA. Even though Li Mei wasn't exactly one of my favorites in MKDA, I still gave her the benefit of the doubt. When Li Mei was verified through an MKD trailer, so much hype came out with her looking cooler and finally having a different weapon. And I thought I would give her a chance in MKD.

But giving out Kitana's fans, her TRADEMARK WEAPON of the MK series since her debut in MK2, to another character is going too far! I can't even think of another game character who uses fans as a weapon. Now I'm starting to see her for what she really is, and what she really has been all along; a weapon thief! Unfortunately, Boon and Co. may not even pay attention to this desperate plea for Li Mei to NOT have those fans! They belong to one character ONLY, and that is KITANA!

Has anyone considered that the fans are only temporary? She had melons for weapons in the E3 demo...

I agree with Temp, Kitana will be back. At the very least, she will be back as an import model from Deadly Alliance.

Ok, here are my theories:
1- The girl is kitana
2- She MIGHT be Tanya if the otherone ends up being Jade (Although I doubt she would look like Li Mei that much)
3- The "melon" or "morning Star" weapon is a stage weapon and for some reason she has kitana's fans
4- Kitana is killed and her fans are now part of a stage (Tomb or something)

I just hope she IS kitana... I dont care if it's like the kitana in MK4 where u just gave her powers to a blue tanya.. or he is like Mokap where she is extra-secret (not unlockable through Crypt)

The fact that are many other NEW weapons they could have given her but instead, they gave her sais like Mileena is what pissed everyone off. Didn't Tanya have fans in MK4?

Kitana was planned to be in Mortal Kombat 4, and was pulled at the last minute because they felt they didn't enough new characters .. Tanya then replaced her. Kitana's fans were left over in the PC version of MK4 .. and people who wanted Kitana in MK4 created hacks to dress Tanya as blue and take the fans that were left behind for Kitana .. so it was possible to see Tanya'a skin with fans in MK4, her actual real weapon was a boomerang.

you missunderstood that info, they said that you can pick your fighting styles as well as the weapon in konquest mode, not the fighting mode...but I still think why the hell would they make steel fans if kitana isn't in the game...and I don't think those fans are the same that she had in DA...

I was not surprised when they took Kitana out of Mk4 and replaced her with Tanya. I mean, what was her use in that game anyway when we already had Sonya?

I ́m thrilled there are still no signs of Kitana in this game. We have a ton of more important females already, I hope she is dead. Actually, if she was dead, then we could have a better story for the game, for any future queen!!!
