No because half of the endings result in the characters becoming gods by defeating Blaze which only one of the is supposed to do so there would not beany way for all of the characters to do what their endings might say they do because certain characters die in other peoples endings.

No one really knows if the endings are canon or not.

Well the endings in the next game should be cannon, or at least foreshadow what is going to happen in the next game.

It's not really proven, but I think that they are gonna use the opening storyline(cinema) of MKA as canon. I hopefully don't want to see that tho. As for the endings, they wouldn't go with those for being canon because there would be a lot of controversy of some sort. The reason(in my view) is simply because, I want to see all or some of the new characters from MKDA/MKD in MK8. Here are some characters that I want to return form those two games.....Nitara, Drahmin, Frost and Kenshi from MKDA. From MKD are; Ashrah, Havik, and Kira.

For this section, I was just thinking about who could return despite their non MKD appearence. I'll start with Kitana and Mileena. Both were in MK2 then out in the Original MK3(umk3 & Trilogy excluded) and MK4(MK gold excluded). Kitana returned in MKDA while Mileena was sidelined. Then Mileena returned in MKD and Kitana sat out. Known MKA is it's own game(MK7), both Kitana and Mileena made their presence. So will both or either one return in MK8....? Other characters in mind are as follows....Sonya, Kano, Johnny Cage, Tanya, Jax, ect.

I just think that it's time for other characters to have their time and the spotlight!

I'd like to see the majority of the MK:A adventure mode to be cannon, I quite enjoyed alot of that story (just the game play let it down a fair bit); but the MK8 endings really should be cannon.
I doubt they will though, that's been Mortal Kombat's hook for drawing in buyers for year. They always speculate about the next game and when it comes out, fans are compelled to buy it to find out what has happend to their favourite characters, etc. etc.

I don't think the thread starter was referring to the endings all being canon. I think what they meant was that the general fate of a character (some become powerful, some go insane, others disappear, etc.) could be an indicator of where they will fall when it is all said and done.

For example: Sub-Zero became an Ice God in his ending, so while he may not return as an Ice God (making his ending non-canon), the Ice God thing makes him a more prominent fighter, so his chances of returning go up.

I partially agree, and partially disagree. Some endings feature characters obtaining power in highly ridiculous ways, and are obviously in there for a laugh. However, I do think it is a good general indicator, although we won't know for certain.

When characters die in their own ending, I think that is a pretty strong indicator that they won't be back. Although Reptile was exploded by Shinnok and was in Deadly Alliance, so who knows?

Some of them from the bios we got we found out are indeed canon, but most we don't know.

I enjoyed most of the endings, but there were some that were like ok...or left it a cliffhanger.

ie scorpion he is boons fav so he got a good ending kinda
so hes got more chance of retuning
kobra on the other hand he dies so the mk team don't like him if my theory is right and therefore wont return
