would both be really good games as far as a VS game could get that is.

And for a VS adventure game id like to see Mortal Kombat VS Gods of War.

i think killer instinct would make more sense, and would fit the persona of darker and they could use fatalities.

There's definitely a shared context, for sure... Not sure it would do much for the franchise, but it would make sense, sure.
