I would love for shoa kahn to be a playable character. Just imagine how cool it would be to face the Dragon King using the old school warlord of MK2&3 himself.

I've been hearing he's not going to be playable. It would be very cool to see him fight DK. He would probably lose( unless DK is too slow),but it would be a great fight.

I've got news for you buddy, 'this one' IS Deception. Maybe you mean MK 7. However, I don't think Shao will be in Deception, and I do think he will make an eventual return.

hey u never know, heck we dont even know who the mid boss is yet. for all we know the mid boss could be shao kahn (even though i dont believe he is). its all a mystery and we are just going to have to find out when the game comes out. plus i pretty much think hes already in even though hes not in the main story line(konquest).

What if Kahn's the sub-boss that's been talked about? Then again it might be Lui Kang. If Kahn IS the sub-boss than he'll be playable. But if he isn't, I hope that the sub-boss is somebody worth unlocking, not anybody from the known roster, but somebody new.

Khan was cofirmed as NOT playable... and I doubt he is sub-boss... he's not the dominated kind of person...

Shao Kahn didn't get killed by the Deadly Alliance punks. That was Reiko who was killed, Shao Kahn's body-double (not canon but i'm a betting man).

I do hope that Shao Kahn is a playable secret character or something.

Reiko is locked up in the Prison now so he couldn't have been Kahn's decoy. IMO, that's good. I always thought the decoy idea was dumb.

I don't see Kahn being the sub-boss. He doesn't seem like the type who'd bow to anyone, even if it was just to get what he wanted.
I'd like to see Shao Kahn return as a playable character. I think his story should be something like this:
He would not accept death. Especially not at the hands of two backstabbing sorcerors. It would be for lesser men. However, Shao Kahn's survival came at a cost. The effort of surviving Shang Tsung and Quan Chi's attack has cost the dark emperor much of his once god-like power. His empire collapsed, his army in disarray and the fate of his realm in the hands of others, Shao Kahn finds himself a man with nothing to lose and everything to gain. With no army, no generals, a fraction of his former power, and fueled by his burning rage, Kahn stands alone. He intends to make the realms remember why Shao Kahn is a man to be feared.
