According to the picture where she is fighting Baraka in the German PSM, she is an african american woman with her black hair tied in a bun on the back of her head. Baraka looks like he's stabbing her face.

o wow, why the hell does it matter if she is black or not, it think there isnt enough black people in the game, 4 black ppl in total of the Mk history over like 13 years. Anyways u can clearly see Arshrah is not black, just look at her damn hands.

Excuse me, but have you even seen the latest picture of her from the German PSM? The picture shows the back and side of her head(including ear and jaw). Her hands are the same color as Baraka's (the person she is fighting) and her hairstyle (hair color black) is that of most bunned african women.

I'm loving this too, by the way. An african goddess, what could be better. I'll call her Tate. My Tate.

Isn't ashrah's hair blonde on earlier pics

By the way, the German PSM scans were dark.

I cant believe you lot are discussin skin colour, wen there are threads about weapons, hidden characters, endings and minigames on the board?!

Next you will moan that we have a Reptile and a Dragon and not a Crocodile, I mean come on guys! Is Ashrah's skin colour important? Wud it help if she was white, with an Alt costume that made her appear black? Maybe Asian?

She can be an Alien with 10 fingers on each hand for all I care - so long as she is a good character!

Wait, maybe not...lol

But seriously, look at her. The woman is dark skinned, while Baraka keeps his same shade. Her hair is kinky in it's bun, and even the tie that strings it together is visable. Her white outfit isn't any darker, it's a bright as it ever was. The blonde is from the see-through sheet on the back of her hat, just looked like hair in that fuzzy picture. This picture, on the other hand, is as clear as the magazine's original. The hat makes no shadow, as it is tiped like this:

-0/ (0 is head - is neck / is hat). Her visable features (neck, jaw, cheek, ear, hairline) are all the same color: that of an african woman.

There is no doubt in my mind, or anyone else who views the picture's, that this woman is African.

edit: Another note, this woman's head is cocked to the other direction, making the side we view in the picture the most lighted direction and out of the way of the hat. There is no shadow touching her skin.

Wow, you must be color blind or something but Asharah has pale white skin. In every damn screenshot of her.

Well, if you look closely at the one other tiny, blurry picture of her back, you can clearly see that she is a pale white woman with blonde hair. Obviously.

Im talking about the freaking humongous hi-rez screenshot of her in the April 2004 PSM Mag which clearly shows that she is white.

And about the shadow, remeber she has a hat so her face is shadowed.

Please look at early mag scans that could be found on the net. It has the same pic but is clearer. That woman is not black..

The one with her and Knightwolf? One hand is light while the other is dark. The dark one is the less blurry of the two, and without features the closest hand (lightest) cannot be used as an example. Her jawline, facing the camera without shadow, is as dark as her other hand. There is no shadow on the second hand hitting Nightwolf, but there is a streak of light hitting the first away from him.

Who cares if Ashrah is black or white, and does it really matter, no. Threads like this give MK a bad name.

I myself don't really give a damn if she is black or not. It's just when someone states some false information it needs to be corrected. So that's what I did. She is NOT black. Sure the lighting effects in one of the pictures make her look that way, but there are several other pictures where you can clearly she she is pale white with blonde hair. Hell, even the one capture from the trailer shows this.
