Well, I've not been posting here for a while, simply because I didn't have the game yet, and didn't have much time. Now I have the game, and a little more time. About everything has been unlocked, and learning some characters at my ease.
One of the most enjoyable features I found is Puzzle Kombat, although there are a few characters that are way better than the rest. Baraka's special sucks, whereas the special of Sindel is very good. Too bad it wasn't balanced, but hey, this is MK. Still, a very enjoyable feature.
Then, Chess Kombat. The CPU is unbelievably easy to beat, even on hard. Is there any strategy involved on its part at all? Anyway, I think this feature will become more likable as soon as I get to really master a few characters rather than try and error.
Regular kombat is pretty ok. I was a bit miffed at first about how very precise and quick you have to be in the tapping of combinations (as opposed to DA) but I'm getting the hang of it now. I have little to remark about the characters, they all have neat designs and as of now I don't have the feeling that the tier list is going to be as clear-cut as in DA. There is a huge crowd of "not good, not bad"-fighters. Judging by the tier list topic, the experts seem to agree on my (premature) conclusion. More opinions on that as I grow into the game.
However, the single most annoying feature must be Konquest. Let's face it guys: KONQUEST IS HORRIBLE. It consists of the same redundant missions over and over, just collecting koins and keys, and fighting some peeps at regular intervals. The storyline is twisted and neglected so hard that it hurts. How can a 20-year-old Shujinko meet Jax? How can he meet Kabal, or Kobra -- in Chaosrealm? Also, the dialogues and voice acting are really bad and cheesy. Some realms have very poor designs (actually, most realms have, only Earthrealm and Edenia were ok). I liked the old Konquest much better. It's sad that you have to play the wretched thing completely to unlock all features. Otherwise, except for a neat basic idea, Konquest is a complete failure.
I can't say much yet about MK Online because I don't have my network set up yet.
