I have no idea who the actual Deceptor is, but that close up face in the trailer is Baraka, no doubt.

I think its Sub-Zero. They show him on the trailer when they say deception (its only a frame long) and in MKTE the Sareena ending is kinda hints at something.

Possibly Sareena is the Deceptor then... it will be cool if she comes back.

The eyes definitely look like Barakas and they are more than likely his. I'm uncertain who the deceiver is. Just because those characters appeared in that trsilaer, it dosen't make them the deceiver. It could easily be someone else. The trailer is just there to server as an into to the game and possible story. You don't see film trailers giving away the entire story do you? It's the same here. As the title says, the trailer is probably deceiving us into thinking it's one of the peeps in it!

The eyes are Baraka's. Adjust the brightness and you can see the rest of his face.

One way or another Baraka is alive for MK:Deception. He's shown getting knocked into a shredder by Scorpion in the trailers in-game footage.

As for the deceptor, I'm guessing its either Baraka or one of the DA. Though there are also reasons why it may be neither:

Who's Baraka going to betray that would have catastrophic results? Mileena? With Kahn & Shinnok gone and Kitana's relm free Mileena's little more than a rogue warrior herself.

As for the DA it was said on the trailer that the decptor abused the decieved's trust. The DA never trusted each other.

I think the eyes look very reptilian. So I think it could possibly be the Dragon King/Reptile. He was Shang Tsungs servant at one point. Maybe he still is I'm not exactly sure. Just a thought, what do you guys think?

It's clear they are making Baraka the deceptor, painfully clear, anyone who doesn't get that from trailer are just wishfully thinking about something else. Just a thought, what if it is not Baraka in the game? I mean, he's fighting Mileena in the trailer, in a cg video cutscene mind you, and he doesn't have the stitches from MK4. What if it's not baraka, but someone who is posing as him. I know they say it's "baraka" and that's who he'll be called in the lineup, but if you beat the game with him and it says he's like a former military comrade using baraka's name I wouldn't be surprised, they did the same thing with Subzero in MK2. He could be trying to get close to shang tsung and quan chi, remember i know people said that this ending doesn't count, but it showed baraka dying and then they kept it in MK:DA and it was titled "baraka's demise". Maybe the part about him dying was true, since certain parts from people's endings have been carried over before. Oh well, just a thought.

I think the deceptor will be the Dragon King betraying Reptile. Or some kind of good helping evil sort of thing. Raiden or Kitana would make killer villains. Maybe even Shang Tsung or Scorpion could betray someone leading to a new branch of storyline. BTW, an idea popped into my head last night.

What if in Cyrax's ending, Nitara doesn't send him home, but to another realm, or her realm for that matter? We could see an evil Cyrax. I think Nitara deceiving Cyrax would make a pretty lame straight up storyline, but what's really go me is what this orb is. I'm pretty sure they said it would seperate Nitara's realm from Outworld, but would a character like that just stop at that? I think we'll see a lot more of the vampires in MK:D.

Remember in the trailer it says "A sinister force is lying in the shadows, obsessed with dominating every realm, using the trust and loyalty of an ally, to take it all."

That could easily be fitted to the Nitara/Cyrax issue.

True, but then you have the question of what impact Baraka betraying Mileena and vice versa would be?

BTW here's a thought. What if Baraka and Mileena fought over Shinnok. Mileena served Shinnok, yet it is a possibility Baraka killed him. I still like my idea that Baraka and Mileena where just sparring together in a way that only to savage mutants could.

There are alot of people who could be deceptors. Baraka, the DA, Shao Kahn, Sareena, Frost, and even Ermac. All these people have been mentioned to be deceptors.

I think it's way to earlier to determine a deceptor and such because to consider it, we need a storyline. And obviously there has not even been a hint to it besides what the voice says in the trailor. But soon, I'm sure we'll get some more.

i dont think it will be one person decepting one person, i think baraka will be decepting mileena, maybe raiden to the mortals, kitana to them, ya know, i dont think baraka is that much of a main caracter to name a game after, this game is supposed to be about the Dragon king, aint it?

I think that the whole theme of the game will be deception. Everyone will have secrets, and all will be addressed, yet all will leave us with more questions.

when that one person said that thing about sub-zero when it says deceptor.. maybe he's pretending to be good.... and it's all an act.. maybe *begins to ponder this along with the meaning of life* aha it's so clear now!!

maybe the 1st subzero is posing as the 2nd subzero and that is the deception.
