I believe he'll be a better character than Johnny cage because he won't have a bad role in deception .Johnny Cage might be better in deception we'll just have too wait and see,maybe he has a bandanna this time around.

Well, at the moment he has a Morning Star, which is a bit like a Nunchaku. It's not been finalised however.

I think I'll have to wait for a storyline before I can judge him properly, but at the moment, I'm not so keen.

Actually, thanks to that interview with John Vogel on Mortalk Kombat ch, we now know that Ben is not his proper name. If that's the case, what do you think his name is?

Wouldn't know myself, from the pictures all I can tell is he seems like a dark, Jin Kazama version of Johnny Cage, sounds good to me.

I don't know any thing about Ben. Judging from the American flag engraved on his shirt, I believe that Ben is connected to Johnny Cage.

Ben may be just as stubborn as Johnny Cage, perhaps he is a student training under him in karate? Ben is definatley from Earthrealm so i'm betting Ben is a good guy.

I am yay for Ben because his actions may lead Johnny Cage to be wiser and mature then he was before. Ben may also tie Johnny Cage into this game, mabey Johnny Cage is one of the hidden characters?

no matter if ben is tied 2 johnny cage or not...he'still bad ass....although he kinda looks like Ken masters off of street fighter........bbut o well...the morning star would be really dumb ......maybe kama's hanging from chains would be awesome and make for some truly bad ass combos.......but we'll have to see...like that guy said...nothing is finalized

Apart from the Karate, why does everyone think Ben will be anything like Johnny Cage? I see no other similarity. He's more a mix up of Street Fighter's Ken and Tekken's Jin.

Back to the question, for now nay. All I see in Ben is some really generic karate character, no different from the legions of other really generic karate characters in beat em ups. Hopefully he'll have cool moves, but right now he looks like a five minute rush job, the next Hsu Hao, and Hsu Hao didn't last very long...

Like ppl said, i think hes going to be alot like Cage just that hes not a movie star. I think he could be cool, i liked cage for a while until about Mk:Da, in Da his story didnt really change at all, so i found him really boring. I hope that they give Ben a cool role. I love his costume though

I for one like the whole Ben idea. It's about time that there was a new mortal in Mortal Kombat. All of the other people have cybernetic upgrades, strange mystical powers or are from another realm/dimension. I love the idea of a new earthling with what seems like an everyday background. He can be the everyman of the game. someone for regular people to relate to. He is one of my most anticipated characters. The first being Skab.

lol, ok, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but c'mon... and the idea of Ben being "an everymans" type character. Well, the last character like that was Stryker, and we all know how that turned out.

Typically characters that seem like normal everyday people are disliked, because they seem boring.

Liu Kang is one, only he had the whole "chosen one" thing goin for him... still they killed him

Jax was one, and a lot of people disliked him. Then they gave him metal arms, which made his look a little less stale, but also took away from him being seen as a credible fighter

Jarek? basically Kano only without the bad ass eye that doubles as a laser, and speaking of Jarek, the majority of fans(or fan boys, w/e) don't like the idea of a new character put in to replace a classic, even if the new character is essentially the same. Not my view, just a fact

so... Ben... yay or nay? how about: gay? despite his potential, Ben will make like an Affleck and get drop by jaded MK fans. I doubt he will be in the next game, but perhaps he'll be in MK8 after thousands of petitions(hahah) and death threats.
