I love the way the characters look in MKD but I can't help but point out that every female that has ever appeared in MK (minus Sonya in some games and Ashrah) dresses like either a stripper or in a swimsuit.

Look at Sindel, Mileena and the mysterious girl in purple (Li Mei, Tanya or Kitana) in the PSM mag. They are all wearing either a one piece swim suit with boots or a bikini with boots. Now Ashrah, I like her. A classy warrior dressed to kill.

Mileena is a slut and deviant so her dress is appropriate but Sindel is no longer Kahn's bitch so why is she dressed like a skank when she is a queen? I don't see any of the men dressed in nothing but thongs.

That said, I like the fact that the characters all have new looks and costumes. Some not as drastic as others but it adds a new freshness.

The second part of this thread is suggesting new costume designs for characters in MK.

Scorpion: Topless with black pants. A chain that wraps around his body. His chest and back are heavily scarred and his face is a burning skull. Some trademark yellow padding below the knee attached to the pants.

Quan Chi: Topless with a thin leather belt across the chest that helps mount massive spikes on his shoulders. He's wearing an oversized black kilt (that goes down to his feet). The kilt has 2 slits that allow you to see his legs, he's wearing black pants beneath kilt. His upper body still has those tattoos of course.

I love the outfits the characters have in MKD. Imo, I don't think we have anything to complain about as they've done a great job on them all. The females look great and Scorpions outfit is still a little plain, but still good.

And Daemos, sexiness sells!

I think that the reason all the MK Girls (Minus Sonya and Asrah) dress in swimsuits must be because there are alot of beaches in Edenia.

I totally agree!

The originality in woman’s outfits have been lost long ago. Females just keep taking their close off.

Now, I DO love their outfits! The kick ass:

Mileena’s Arabic/Persian look is amazing, I love the way they did her costume, different from before.

Sindels BLACK/RED look with the gold CROWN kicks ass!!! I love the gothic feel she has. Her other outfit is just like Mk3, so I like it.

But now, the point is, all edenian/outworld/shokan females look quite the same .They need a serious change.

Kiras look is pretty awesome. I like her. Ashrah is totally different, Li Mei still looks boring with the half-naked sh**, but she looked awesome with her original outfit in MkDA.

Sonya is by far the only woman that has kept her pants on, so, if she ever took them out (lol) I wouldn’t see anything wrong with it. But I hope she doesn’t. She looks original the way she is.

Well, Sonya did take her pants of for the poster of Johnny's "Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance" movie, remember? (and I'm not one to complain!) wink

But if I can be serious for a minute, I'd like to say that from the little I've seen, the character design for MKD looks good. I especially like what they've done with Sub-Zero and Baraka and overall, and I'm more impressed with the characters' in MKD looks than I was in MKDA. However, I wouldn't mind if not all outfits in the game were so completely over the top. I think Sonya's and Kung Lao's default outfits in MKDA were good examples of designs that were simple but effective.

I think it'd be fun to see Johnny Cage simply wearing a karate gi (although it would probably be a pretty flashy/decorated one), or Jax and Sonya wearing something remotely military looking (I guess Sonya's alt. in MKDA qualifies...). I'd also love to see Kung Lao and/or Liu Kang actually dressed up as Shaolin monks.

Great thread, man.

Kabal:
-First costume would be a slightly torn trenchcoat, fully buttoned up over his chest. Two hook swords strapped to his back, and his longer hair would be let out, probably blowing in the wind. And a respirator, of course.
-Second costume would have his hair tied back and no respirator, but instead of the raw torn face, it would have a dry scarred look(or maybe even healed by unnatural means). He would have a sleaveless black shirt, with dragon tattoos on each arm, and it would say "redeemed" on the back of his shirt in japanese characters.

Smoke:
-Would have a the basic black ninja undersuit, but over it he would wear a grey garmet(exactly like the one Raiden wore in MK2, only gray and not as baggy. Much much tighter, if you will). Note that Smoke would now have a scar like sub, only on the opposite eye. A black one, actually.
-Second costume he would have a gray hooded cloak, long sleeves and silver gauntlets. Beneath the cloak he would ONLY be wearing the black ninja undersuit(no gray), but around his neck he would wear a medallion, which would be the life-support which keeps him alive as a human.

Sektor:
-Think of a Red Cyrax from MKDA, only completely dented up and rusted out. There would be gaps of metal missing from his shoulders and chest, and vines would be growing out of the them.
-Remember the red thing Raziel wore on his shoulder that completely covered up his left side? Well, a more healthier sektor would be wearing a blue one with the Tekunin symbol on it. Simple, but complete.

I might think of more later.
