Hsu Hao was Chinese, Cyrax is black, Jade was black in MKT and kicked ass... Ermac was black in some versions of umk3, but they changed that, Lui Kang is chinese, Tanya was black, but sucked, Jade needs to return I think, Noob Saibot is very black.. or gray... Quan Chi isn't even a recognizable race, Jax is stereotypical black person now and sucks, Reptile is green now, Kintaro was tiger striped, chameleon was semi-transparent... ok bad example... I don't really think the game is racist by any means... and color doesn't make the figher... later

3. There are NO Europeans in MK, NO South Americans and NO South Asians or Africans. Do you hear them (or me) complaining? I don't think it's a race or minority issue here. Midway is simply rather America-centered (because it's an American company).

4. Most fighting games are like this (DOA, Tekken, VF...). I'm not saying they shouldn't be different (they should!) but I don't think throwing a tantrum over this issue will help, especially not if your argument in itself is a typically 'American' argument. There are black people in Mortal Kombat.

Why do videogames have to have a stereotype of characters? I'm white and if there was a videogame just with either asian or black people I wouldn't care. I sometimes play NBA Jam and the majority of players in that game are black, do you hear me complain about the amount of whites in that game? No!!

For cool black characters I'd like to see Jade and Kai come back. Jade was really strong, and I really hope she's back in MKD with a new look like Mileena got. and Kai deserves another chance in the series, with better caperoia, and something like Liu's fighting style.

I hated Jax's MKDA makeover, and especially the rapper outfit which just didn't suit his character. It's like someone thought "Hey look, Jax is black. Let's make him dress up as a rapper". Never liked Cyrax at all.

I wan't to see a black character like Blade, he's a badass mofo.

Jax is aright, but he was better in the MK2 days where he was more serious and never said shit like "awwww yeahhhh" or "dats what im talkin bout"

Jax is black, and up until DA, was the strong, standout black guy. He embodied the American spirit. Then, he became a Black Panther/Rapper, and used blaxpoitation phrases.

Jade is actually from the Edenia, but if her ethnicity was Earthrealm-linked, it would probably be a mix of black AND white...

Like Jade, Tanya was from Edenia, so she wasn't "black" by our standards...

Kai was an awesome character, but I didn't like the mechanics for his Handstand. His fireballs rocked, though...


Cyrax IS black, despite what others say...

But seriously... all other fighting games have like one or two black guys, and half of the time they're boxers *glares at SF* (Don't get me wrong, I love SF, but I hate the boxer stereotype they've brought to the fighting game.

I liked Blade from Eternal Champions. He was pretty badass...

And if there's a Jamacian or Brazillian in MKD, I hope they do NOT give him Caporeia. I have nothing against Caporeia, other than the fact that it's tough for me to do, but it's another stereotype. I know plenty of Jamacian and Brazillian martial artists in REAL LIFE who have never even studied Caporeia.

But all in all, I don't really pay attention to race in video games unless it's stereotyped.
