the block systems the same in all 3 games (MKDA, MKD, MKA,)
MK would be cooler if it had a tekken like block system (where it actually seems like they are getting hit)

i disagree Iori9, i hate fighting games without the block button as you can't move in those as you block, and it makes it unfluid. I love that MK has a block button.

Well, because blocking means standing with your strength into the enemy attack. Moving defense is either avoiding or parry. On which the MK develo-pers have quite a few misconceptions.

Well...It depends on how your blocking, if your standing and blocking and your oppinent hits you with a low attack like a sweep or poke then you'll get hit. Likewise if your ducking and blocking and your opp. does a mid atack like Scorpions X in Hapkido then you'll get hit by that too.

Pay attention and learn what moves hit High, mid and low and you'll do better, and also remember to PUNISH when you block a combo.

Now onto you not being able to break your opponents blocking. One simple thing you can do if their standing and blockingis throw, throw, throw. If your playin a turtle throw their asses all match. Another thing you can do is almost the same as I said above, if you see your opp. blocking low do a mid attack on them.

Hope this helps.

It is the same to MK:D, but the MK:A blocking system has a huge difference to that of the previous, 3-D MK last generation games.

It does seem kind of unresponsive at most times, sometimes I have to actually push the button ALL the way in until my finger hurts just to perform the block successfully.

I thought I would be the only one that has felt this problem in Armageddon.
I'm guessing maybe they were tweaking with the blocking system and forgot to reconfigure it right before the release of the game.
What I think.

Then again maybe it's just the players.
