I've been wondering the same thing since DA. I think it's because everyone takes MK to seriously to laugh at/with Bo.

He's a great character. I don't personally play with him all the time, but play with some other characters besides Scorpion and Sub Zero people, Ermac will smoke their asses, and Noob-Smoke will beat both of them to a bloody pulp. I'm not saying they aren't cool, they just aren't the only cool characters in the game.

I believe the reason why a lot of people including myself hate him is because he is way too slow when walking, and attacking. He is one of the slowest fighters in the game.

He's only slow walking in his Drunken Fist style, all others he moves normally. And attacking wise, I find him faster than most. Especially his Drunken Fist. It may be slow for walking but when it comes to attacking there's not much faster.

Hes a good fighter but he FARTS to much and his fatalities are kinda of stupid. But otherwise, he is a good fighter.

He is just plain lame. I would have thought he was a joke if he wasn't right there farting his way into a fight stance. There isn't one likable thing about him. His tone is wrong for the game to boot. He is the most hated character since Stryker for a reason and the only way he made it into a second game is because somebody at Midway is doing his mom.

I hate him because he's a disqusting old fart that like Li Mei shouldn't have never been in the MK series to begin with. Neither of their stories even really fits in the MK universe. Midway could have better spent the time, money and memory space on either creating better new characters or bringing back classic favorites like Sonya Blade or even not so classic favs like Mavado (sp?).

bo rai cho is a disgrace to mortal kombat. farts have no place in mortal kombat, especially in fatalities. as much as i hate star wars, i think bo rai cho is to mortal kombat as jar jar is to star wars, an annoying excuse for bad comic relief. the farting and puking is not even funny. I would never have expecting this kind of character in an mortal kombat game, and i dont see how anybody who has been a fan of mortal kombat since the first could like this character. There are so many characters they could have put in this game instead of bo rai cho, but they chose to put him in and even more disgraceful than ever. This is the kind of humor you would see in a crappy game like clay fighter, but in a game that is suppose to be dark and violent he has no place in. Boon deserves a slap in the face for thinking up this character. if they keep him in the next one with the same immature fart humor, well they might as well have made zebron and actual character. mortal kombat seems to be becoming like the later nightmare on elm street's, going more for humor than horror

Well I've been playing MK since '93, and I like Bo'Rai Cho.
He is fat. So fucking what? I think it makes him more original and stand out more. So does the whole 'drunk' gimmick, nothing wrong with it. The farting and puking? Doesn't make a difference to me either way. He was one of the better fighters in DA, and is still solid in Deception. And you know what? I like BOTH of his fatalities in Deception.

I hated Bo Rai Cho in MKDA...the farting and the burping constantly, every single time he moved or attacked, was just annoying. But I like Bo Rai Cho much better now. His character design is much better, and he seems far more important. To me he seems like one of those wise old masters from one of those classic kung fu movies. When I look at him from that perspective I like him alot. That said there isn't a single character in this game I really hate, other than Dairou. Not the character itself, just the look...whenever I look at him I imagine he'd have about 20 gig of kiddie porn on his computer.
