A much improved strategy guide, BradyGames has released the what they're calling "Issue 2" of their Mortal Kombat: Deception strategy guide. The Mortal Kombat: Deception Kode Book features a more complete Konquest guide, Koffin list for the Krypt, all the Fatalities and Hara Kiris in one dedicated section, and even an arena guide, complete with a listing of all the death traps and stage weapons (with their combos) available to that particular stage. If you haven't gotten a strategy guide yet, this is the one to get - available in supermarkets and video game stores across the U.S.A. now!

No, I wouldn't put the blame on them. It was the best thing they could do, considering Midway didn't really want all the codes out the second you buy the game (remember what happened with MKDA?) and they really wouldn't want to wait a couple months for the game to cool down before publishing a strategy guide, so I think this was their best choice.

Agreed! I've got both guides, they're both pretty good in their own right, and MK:D collectibles.

For anyone who has gotten the new guide,(or will get it soon) I have a question! Does it cover the gamecube edition in it?

No it doesn't cover GameCube - I am guessing there will be a third guide released, or maybe a new one published by Nintendo Power. We'll see what happens.

I should think (hope) everyone has done it 100% by now anyway. No point really buying guides when you have the internet imo, unless of course you like the art...

Question.
Does it give extra information on the characters like the MK4 strategy guides did (ie. likes, dislikes, etc.).

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe they are getting away with this type of KRAP!! The whole reason you buy a strategy guide in the first stinkin' place is for the hints and Fatalities. If they are not available, THEN DO NOT PRINT IT until the info becomes available!!! NEVER in my 20+ years playing video games have I ever seen such a TERRIBLE way to cash in twice on the same product?!?!? If they were a DECENT COMPANY in any way they would give them out free or at LEAST at a discounted price with the return of the INCOMPLETE one !!!! ABOSLUTE SCUM!!! I WILL NEVER BUY A BRADY BOOK AGAIN, EVER !!!

This should be retitled as the
Mortal Kombat Deception: Apology Guide
and it should be only 1/4 the price of the original.
Hate to say it but the guide they originalyl released was the single most half-assed strategy guide ever published for any game (that I've seen anyway). Yes, Midway didn't want them to print all the info...that doesn't mean that they had to print the moves so small that you need a magnifying glass to see them, and label the chain combos simply by listing the names of the combos from the moves list, which was a really cheap, half-assed shortcut. Not to mention that some of the few fatalities listed were completely incorrect, and the Kodex was a waste of precious trees.
Meh...no reason for the Brady Games bullshit, just turn to the internet.

NO I WILL NOT !!! like many of our brothers have said: i will just get it on the internet!!! Call me crazy, but i want to support the games i like. i always buy Special Editions, Hint Books, concept art, action figures, ect............
TO SHOW MY SUPPORT!! if i did not believe in this i would just copy my games and get walkthroughs off of gamefaqs.com. So if that is my reward for supporting Brady games, then they can F@&K themselves !!!
it is 100 percent dishonest !! Sort of like S U ' S!!!
