Liu Kang's death brought a completely new spectrum to MK...it is now darker, and doesn't have that 'Good will always win' feeling anymore...which is exactly what the series needed. Liu Kang's death was one of the bes things to ever happen in MK...hence, he should remain dead.

Liu kangs dead and needs to stay dead. Kung lao and others need the spot light now.

If he were to be in MK: DA, I'd see him having Jeet Kune Do since he is like the Bruce Lee of Mortal Kombat. The intro video in MK: DA even showed him doing Jeet Kune Do when fighting Shang Tsung.

But anyway, the Mortal Kombat storyline is better without him and it should and will move on without him.

Yeah, he faked breaking his neck, faked getting his soul taken by Shang Tsung, and even faked that blood coming out of his ear. After Shang had gone off with Quan, Liu Kang got up, put his neck back in the original position, wiped of the blood on the floor, and left a fake body of himself so that everyone, including th thunder GOD Rayden could think he was dead, and so that Kung Lao could be devastated and run of to train with some huge ass fatso.(read: Bo Rai Cho).But do not worry, he will come back for Deception, just in time to say: Just kidding guys!!!
