OK, so maybe the MK team was just stirring the pot a little regarding rumors, and maybe they wren't giving clear answers, but think about it. The only time they ever did was at DA's Fight Night. Was I disapointed? A bit, but I knew this would happen. I disliked the roster of the game, but I didn't say I would never buy another MK game. I got upset looking for SUs, but I didn't write a nasty letter to Midway. All in all it's just a game, and it's suppossed to be fun. Some of you are taking this WAY too seriously. Eventually, we will know all there is to know with the game. Afterall, the PAL version is yet to be released. So you honestly want to ruin every secret for them? Heck no! So just wait until a few months after the PAL version is released, and we'll likely know everything.
....and regardless if you liked the questions asked by the MKO staff or not, thank them for allowing this chat to take place. This happened when DA came out too, and it's a shame that they have to put up with some of you acting like children. Now smile, put the game up for awhile if you must, and return to normal living for awhile--all will be revealed in time, if it hasn't been already.
To Mods/Admins: Thanks for the chat. I actually had to miss it this time, but at least we got some answers, even if they were vague.

I agree. There were DEFINETLY some vague answers, but hey it's just a game!!. Also, I think secrets are just a side-part of a game....right?, that's why they are secrets; NOONE SHOULD KNOW FOR SURE IF THERE ARE ANY UNTILL THEY ARE DISCOVERED. Even if there were no secrets(which is a possibility) I think the game is pretty damn fun to play and I'll continue to play it for quite some time. I thank both the MK Team for making the game and the MKO Staff for hosting the chat.
Some questions were not good, that's true. Some anwers where useless, true also. BUT in the end it's just a chat, it's just a game, it's just entertainment and fun; at least for me. Definetly it's not the end of the world; and I'm sure that in time everything about the game will be discovered(just like the person that made the thread said).

Your 100% right about that Thanks MKO for putting this together. Even though I was a little upset with some of the answers and quesions I still had a good time it was a fun hour getting to hear what the midway team had to say, even if it wasnt what everybody wanted to hear. Thanks Again MKO!!!

Fight Night sucked and you know it. The Mk team are a bunch of jokes for letting down their faithful fans. I wish they actually stopped dicking around for even 2 minutes and actually answered a question instead of half-assing it like they usually do.
Here is my response to this if your interested:

Don't get me wrong, I like the fact that mko did this, but it seemed like one big aim chat. I honestly think it would have been better if it was 15 yes or no questions so there would be no half-ass answers. I think Ed Boon and staff need to realize that stuff like this makes a bad impression on MK fans.

It was fine. What the hell do you people want? They're not going to ask them over and over about superunlockables or hidden stuff in the game when OBVIOUSLY they don't want to give a straight answer. So instead of just forcing them to give the same vague answers over and over, they talked about other topics. Nothing wrong with that. If you think there IS something wrong with that...go find a hole. Now stay there.
It was a trip to Midway. Not a trip to fucking Earthrealm or something.

You're a moron, and I know it.

All is well, guys. Many are angry now, and they feel frustrated with answers at hand, but soon tomorrow will arrive, then a week will pass, then a month, and soon all will realize that the only thing that really matters is the actual game they paid over $50 and how much they like it.
About Me

Yeah right. I paid $50 for a game that didn't take more than a week to beat, find all the characters, beat Arcade mode with everyone, beat Konquest storymode, and then get a bunch of half-assed answers from the MK Team about if there are anymore secrets in the game. I'm sorry, but Fight Night sucked. The only thing missing was beer, pot, and a Cheech & Chong movie. I should've saved my $50 for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas which I know, from reviewers, will atleast last me a couple months to complete, and not one shortass week. Even Online play doesn't appeal to me because of the 'infinite combo' bullshit and then, on top of that, noobs who do nothing but block, throw and uppercut 20 times in a row and then not wanna play anymore when you whoop their ass from here to the pits of hell because they think 'rank is everything'. Pfff. I'm slowly but surely losing my faith in the MK franchise. 'Nuff said. But don't get me wrong. I still love MK. But for me, this is a BlockBuster renter. Thats it.

The organization of the event was great and I want to give everyone at Mortal Kombat Online my personal thanks. Thanks for giving us a place to gather together to talk about the game.
Without this chat we would still be searching for crap that is not in the game. The site organizers have to walk a fine line when asking the questions and not to be too harsh to the developers who are taking their time to answer our questions.
Now thats over, let me say i'm pissed off Boon lied about the Super Unlockables in several interviews. But at least I know and I can sleep tonight.

AMEN.
Wow 50 bucks, Well worth it. But by the sounds of it you needed to ask your mom for the $. And if you didnt want to find all the secrets in a week why the hell did you look everything up on the internet!! You obviously wouldnt of found liu kang, or his alt yet, probably not kira either.
What other dev team does something like fight night to answer fans? not many. So vague or not you should be thankfull for them giving an hour of their time. Did you honestly think they were going to give away every last secret in detail?
Thanks MKO for puting this together!!

I'm agreeing strongly with the threadstarter and phoen's posts. Well said.
That's a very valid point.
How long would the next GTA game take to complete if you used a walkthrough and conversed with people on a daily basis about tips and tricks for finishing it faster?
It's the same as visiting mko, reading all these threads, being told where to find certain things, and which koffins unlock which items etc.
I thank the mko staff.
Not because it was really worth anything as far as facts go, but it was an entertaining read.

Well, I did pay 50+ bucks; and for me it was worth it. Now you NEVER KNEW if there were any secrets, now if there are none, THEN THAT'S THE GAME YOU ACTUALLY BOUGHT!!. If you don't like it return it; or you should have rented it in the first place. But here's an advice: You should NEVER buy a game if you what you're interested in are the secrets, because as they are SECRETS, there is always the possibility of not being in the game.
I love this and I think it's pretty fun to play, and I actually do. However, I have games that I paid 50 bucks for and never even got to the middle when I already got bored of it. And I can't even return them cuz I don't live in USA and I import them.
I still thank MKO staff for putting this together, and the MKTeam for being there. Thank you both. Note: And it's true, you can easily beat any game pretty fast if you search for imformation; as many people do here in MKO with the guides.

here are my two cents. Boon and all the other guys said they check this site out and get ideas of what gamers want. My problem is they do not listen. Would you rather have two or three SU's or a stupid tetris ripe off? I can see where they want to add value to the purchase but how about extending the playablitlity? Kenshimaster said it correctly, like with MKDA, within a couple of weeks, hardly anyone will be playing this and move on to games that are more rewarding. Deception is a good game but Boon and all are not really listening to what fans want. P.S. I too would like to thank the MODS for putting last night together.

no, i disagree. i, for one, bought the game on the assumption from ed boon interviews stating that apart from what we already knew in the game, that there would be more than 24 characters available. how hard is it to let slip one of the SU characters to entice us? not hard at all id say.

I think the thread starter is right and the only thing i find frustrating is how childish the fans are! I dunno, maybe the half the community are ten or something!
Seriously people, you won't play the game because your question wasn't asked/answered in the way you wanted. Diddums!
Personally i'm tired of it all now, i found this place when DA was coming otu and it seemed like a goo dplace to find news and such, but frankly all i see are people complaining because they didn't get MORE than what they paid for or haven't worked out all the secrets or that when someone takes the time out to answer some questions the very rpecise riteria for their satisfaction wasn't fullfilled!
I shan't be back for a month, i think, let the children finish their sulking!

Deception's a good game. No doubt about it. But the only thing I find incredibly gay is how I found everything BY MYSELF. The only thing I needed help finding was Liu Kang. Thats it. Then, when comparing and contrasting, here you have GTA:San Andreas that is so incredibly huge it takes roughly around 30 minutes to drive to all three cities without stopping. Then twice as many cars as Vice City. Trains, planes, BMX bikes. Rampages, Hidden Packages, Side Missions, Playing Pool, managing your weight, keeping your respect, breaking into homes......the things you can do in that game is endless. Vice City and Deadly Alliance both came out in 2002. Deception and San Andreas both come out this year. When compared to how much the GTA people listened to the fans and how much Boon and then listened to the fans and which team actually did more of what the fans wanted, that easily goes to GTA. Like I stated above, Deception is a great game, and it's possibly one of the best in the series, but it needs more. It doesn't need cheesy side games, it needs more DEPTH. Hopefully Shaolin Monks will give me faith, and like Boon said, MK7 for PS3 will be different as was DA for PS2, so my faith in MK lies in their hands. For me, Deception is resting on the up there with Deadly Alliance until probably 5 months from now when I want to play Konquest again once GTA is beat.

yeah....here's something to consider: MK is a fighting game. It's not going to have stuff like a GTA will have in it. Dur. I still can't figure out why people buy the game if they want that much content. A fighting game's replay shines in it's two player mode. Games like GTA compensate for that with a bunch of hidden stuff that, usually, isn't really as much fun as it is hyped. "Oh! A rampage! A hidden car!" Please, that's not really fun--it just takes longer to find. GTA and MK cannot be compared, because they are in two different genres. You people really need to get your heads checked if you think they can have the same amount of stuff to do/hidden. It's just not possilbe. (look at the normals moves for any MK character--now look at the main character in ANY GTA game. See? He can't do a 5th of the stuff they can--most of the programming is character moves and such. Think, guys, think.)
About Me

Yeah, I did. So I could finish with it before GTA came out. And yeah, they can be compared. Know why? It's a little thing called "content". It doesn't matter what genre it is. I don't give a fuck if it was Barbie on Ice, I'd still compare it.
GTA:SA equals tons of endless extra's put into ONE little bitty game in a rough estiment of two years. Boon and the creators of GTA both had probably, maybe, roughly around 2 years to make both of these games. Boon, in that time, could have EASILY made a new fighting engine, more characters, thrown out those stupid mini-games, as well as other stuff like make Konquest a little longer, a bit more cleaned up graphic wise. The list of things they COULD have done with the time they were given is endless. I respect Boon, I really do, and like I've said before, I love Mortal Kombat and I always will. BUT, the truth of the matter is, when you compare how much was jam-packed into MK:D and then look at GTA:SA.......Boon and the MK Team are LAZY. If they want to make a MK game everyone of their fans will no doubt love, they need to step up to the challenge. And as for replay value, MK:D is already on the shelf for me. Online mode just annoys me because of some of the ignorant pussy-acting people that throw a whiney-fit when they lose. Big deal. You lost. Go PRACTICE. Jesus. Anyways, my point is, MK:D could have been done better, no doubt about it. And don't try and say the MK games will never please me, blah blah friggin' blah, because I very much enjoy Deception, BUT that still doesn't get rid of the huge, in your face FACT that they were a bit lazy this time around and it could have been done better.
