CAPOEIRA:
A Brazilian Martial Art, Capoeira was born in the "senzalas", the places where the slaves were kept. It consists of a stylized dance, practiced in a circle called the "roda", with sound background provided by percussion instruments, like the "agogo", the "atabaqui", etc. It incorporates "maculele", done with blades, and "maracatu", done with sticks. Highly acrobatic, energetic and difficult to master.

You may remember Capoeira used with Eddie Gordo from Tekken. This fighting style is awesome and shows great ability in a fighter. Don't you think it should be used in MK:D. If not with a character, but as an option for Shujinko?

Tanya should definitely have this style! She'd be perfect for it. She specialises in kick moves and uses them to deadly effect. She's fast and has a great form perfect for this style and is very acrobatic. Replace the blades in your description with two bladed boomerangs and she'll kick ass!

Yea this style would be pretty awesome in MK. But i dont think anyone on the character roster would really fit with this style. Maybe Tanya or Kai but thats it

Oh lord. I remember TomTaz's topic about this.

Capoeira is something I really don't recommend if MK is trying to be realistic. Eddie Gordo and Christie Montierro from Tekken both have it, but its been altered in such a way that they can be used to win. In reality, Capoeira isn't the most efficient style to use in a fight, because they'll probably kick you while you start flipping around. I don't think anyone needs this style in MK. Ever. However, it can be altered in such a way someone might be able to use it, but its a terrible style from what I've experienced.

Here's my verdict: The style sucks, but if its altered like Tekken, sure. Whatever. As long it works. I personally would rather NOT have it though.

For a game that needs 48+ fighting styles, I'm sure that we'll see Capoeria in some form or another. Sure, it'll probably be all butchered up like Wanderer says - but hopefully in a way that will make the style more effective. I hope they at least maintain the "ginga" dance to make it look authentic. It should have a backflip escape as its special attack.

Handstand...hmmm. Handstand handstand handstand. In all honesty, I think Capoeira in MKD can be implemented without a handstand. Two reasons: 1) There are enough kick attacks to give it variety, and 2) It would be too much like Tekken.

And yes, I agree with you all that Tanya is the first choice for this style. Second is maybe "Ben".

If I can just go OT for a second, I want to describe my ideal Tanya: Leopard, Capoeira, Boomerang. Bitchin' grin
