Captain Marvel = Raiden

Come on!

They put Captain Marvel in because he is a perfect match-up for Raiden!

Don't you think so?

They both have powers of electricity.
They both are doers of justice.
They both could fly.
They both are associated with gods and mythology (Raiden is the god of thunder while Captain Marvel gets his powers by shouting SHAZAM which are the intials of the Greek Gods).

Many people have been speculating that Superman and Raiden would be a match-up.

That could also make sense because they are both leaders and doers of justice.

But I think Superman and Liu Kang will be paired up.

They both are doers of justice.
They both are the hero mascots of each side.
They both died. :(
They both have the heroic personality. (Watch Justice Leauge then watch MKSM cut scenes).

do you guys agree?

EDIT: I also think Johnny Cage and The Flash will be paired together.

Electric Superman!!!



The common ground between Captain Marvel and Raiden is pretty tenuous! You'd have to think we'll get Cap-classic, rather than the stylishly similar white duds that came with his on-the-job promotion.

To your credit; I have it on good authority that both characters enjoy a bit of disco. Bee Gees. Brothers Gibb.

I was excited for Captain Marvel... but that's just me. I personally don't care to see Aquaman or anymore Batman characters (maybe Joker.)

Ehh, no, Cpt. Marvel should not be the most powerful character in the game. Otherwise that would be utterly lame and useless towards the other characters, not to mention that if he is somewhat similar towards Superman in a way, he too should be one of the most characters.

I doubt they'll make this guy a high tier, and if they did, so what, though I really don't like this charactrer and wish why they ever made such a guy like him in the first place. Oye!

He was another company's "superman" and then he got bought by DC. so technically they didn't make him.

However it is a really bad idea to have him in the game since he's pretty much invincible.

Don't be so quick to assume, buddy.

I've read countless comic books in my day (mostly X-Men), and Captain Marvel just so happens to be one of my least favorite heroes, along with Captain America, the Flash, and the Incredible Hulk.

Sure, the concept to his story is pretty cool (well, at least of what I can remember), but overall, the comics never really captured me. there was never really a great story, IMO.

Anyhoo, Raiden rules, CM drools. grin

Hi there new guy, interesting to see more DC fans involved. I'm an MK and DC fan, MK a little more but love both.

My preference would be Supes vs. Raiden, but Cap I wouldn't mind either. I see what you're saying concerning the "talking smack" about him, that's just due to the ignorance of SOME of the MK fanbase(not all) just like elsewhere you'll find a lot of ignorant DC fans that know nothing about MK....I've seen too much from both sides.

Cap vs. Raiden would be interesting, but I do believe that Supes would give Raiden a more difficult time honestly if I had to compare.

I definitely agree with you though in some other threads that Cap is not just like Superman, you're right. The people who think that are either ignorant or just being haters....something I hate to say you might have to get a little used to on here, but welcome and enjoy man!

Of course, they are nothing alike, excluding a few obvious things.

Having Captain Marvel go against Raiden just doesn't seem right. It's kind of like having Moses fight Jesus, or Hercules fight Zues (no offense to anyone).

Only someone with a divine-like status should fight Raiden, i.e. Wonder Woman or Superman.

Thanks man. I'm just trying to "enlighten". Hopefully, more people will like Captain Marvel after his movie comes out. They probably will just because he'll be "mainstream" now. Gotta love mass media. I'm a DC and MK fan since back in the day.

I'm curious for sure man, I want to match up Supes vs. Cap in MKvs.DCgrin

I read the other day that finally DC is going to start pumping out some movies, has me excited. I'm curious about Flash, GL and JL movie(still in the works from what I've read) I also hope at some point Tom Welling plays Superman, he's great on Smallville IMO anyway.

@ Riyako yeah man, that's why I wanted to be specific posting the "haters" from the "ignorant"

Ignorance is bliss, most of the time both MK and DC fans alike that speak falsely about the other happens because they don't know anything about the other, but "hating" on here just gets tiresome after a while.
