Note: This is not a I-hate-MKvsDC post. This is its chances of finacial success. Heres how I break it down. Out of 100%, there is a 70% chance it will suck, a 15% chance it will be okay, and a 15% chance it will be great. I actually kinda like the idea of a mashup, like Marvel vs. Capcom or Super Smash Bros. but when I think of a DC fighting game, I think of Justice League Task Force, which sucked. Hard.
Of financial success? I will give that a 90% chance of being very successful. Think about it....most DC fans will buy it....most MK Fans will buy it. Also, the casual fan of either franchise will be tempted to buy it as well. This game is going to be very successful.
As for good...I'm not so sure that this game will be a very fun or good game, but it will sell.

Seriously?...
What do you call sucking?
I'd expect the game to be another solid entry by MK standards.
I highly doubt that those statistics you have are correct. I doubt that half the people on this video game site are saying that "this game sucks." They're only doing that for peer pressure so that people on this site might like them a little bit more.
Though I will have to agree with the guy above me, seeing how I too beleive that this game will be another MK success.

I don't know who you are, but I think I'd like to reconsider my position...
Are there any reliable online sources for gaming sales figures?
I'd be interested to know how the DC brand shifts local, but more interestingly, international sales. I want to assume it's going to hold most of the same traditional MK territories, but with the inevitable success of things like The Dark Knight, I wonder if they might break some new ground...
I'm assuming most of us agree it won't do Street Fighter numbers...

Well, my line of logic is that MK fans wont want it, cause there are DC characters in it and no fatalities(there called "finishers" now) and DC fans wont like it cause their favorite spandex clad hero or villain will get "finished" by a MK character, so no one will want it. I sure as hell dont.

Another solid entry??Makes me wonder what you consider to be a bad MK game.haha jk kinda
Anyways.
It will probably be a success profit wise but, that in no way makes it a good game.Theres been great games that never sold well that really should have when compared to other shitty games that were sold like hot cakes.
I know we didn't get much of a trailer and the renders aren't exactly winning people over right now.But I think lets wait and see what E3 brings if anything at all and make our further judgement then. Its kinda to early to tell or maybe the reason their holding back is cause its turning out horrible,so you never know.
Its probably sell and I honestly think that we will get a sequel to it one day.

You really think it's going to sell that much less than most other MK games?
Because that's the context of what was said, and I just know it wouldn't be like anyone on MKO to have a break down of language comprehension!

Of the people have historically bought these games and have one of the platforms MKvsDC will be on, I fully expect at least 90% to come back, regardless of what they've bitched about.
It seems pretty unlikely that joe public wouldn't factor somewhere into the success of the title, even if that's recouping losses from the few fans who actually won't buy it.
I don't imagine there's a huge DC gaming fanbase, but you'd have to think they're just going to be sugar in the equation.

Do I think its going to sell less then other mk games?Yea,I kinda do.
I think it will make its money back but that doesn't mean it was a success IMO.
Spin offs don't usually do that well from the material that its coming from. And I know this isn't a spinoff but thats what i am considering it for right now.For example,do the street fighter series speak anything of the vs game that had the characters in them? No,they don't.And same thing with xmen and whatnot.I mean, this is just one of those games that are like, well what if kind of stories but have no impact on those stories that came before it,or I hope not with this one.
Anyways getting off topic. It will and it won't depending on what you consider to be a success.

I disagree with this, especially about the DC fans. I am a fan of both, and personally I think seeing a DC character get "finished" isn't a big deal at all, it is a fighting game, someone has to lose, a little death sequence (if they even die that is) won't make a big difference.
I think the game will be fine, Boon and co seem to be making a real effort with this, and Deadly Alliance was a great game when it came out. Flawed yes, but original and different from every other fighter out there as it was pretty simple to use yet innovative in the way it employed different fighting styles. If they want to make a good MK game, they have proven that they can, just because Armageddon was a bit of a shambles doesn't mean that every game from now on will be. I think alot of people are hating on the product before they've even had a chance to see much of the gameplay. I really like the appearance of the characters at least, they look less cartoony than the DA/Deception/Armageddon characters so far.

I think financially the game will do fine. I don't expect that many nostalgia mortal kombat fans will purchase the game. But I think this game will bring a new element and will introduce a lot of new fans to the franchise. So in future years mortal kombat will do great financially.
