Li Mei is a new character into the MK world, but doesn't feel, or at least to me, very mortal kombat like, but I thought she fit in quite well.
Anyhow, when we first saw her, many said that she looked very tekken.
Anyhow:
Things to talk about:
MKDA appearence, like or not.
Storyline, endings, fatalities
Moves, costumes,
Return in MK6?
Movie/TV appearences (should she, by who?)
Other stuff to post:
Fake pics and anis
Genuine pics and anis
Fan fiction and fan art
Character concepts
RULES (of course):
No flaming (no matter how tempting.....)
Spoilers are allowed, so no complaining
Please stay on topic.
Okay, let's go!
STARTER QUESTION (feel free to expand and diverse): Li Mei's look isn't very MK (although her outfit seems to fit in). Do you think she really belongs in MK and should she stay around?
AND ANOTHER: Do you think Li Mei is just a female Liu Kang?

She is the best person in MK:DA.
I am not a great fan of li Mei yeag her charector looks good but her moves are crap and her fatality sucks. Her storyline is also below par for an mk game. She just feels rushed whenyou play as her. Like they stuck her in at the last minute.

What exactly do you mean when you say that she does not feel like MK? I honestly dont understand that view. Maybe its because MK is the only fighting game I play, anyway I think she looks great, nothing too over the top but at the same time not too dull. Her storyline I think was pretty good but I personally dont see it getting her into another game. Her moves are fast but rather weak and can be unreliable at times. Overall I think Li Mei is a good character she has a great look, I dont just mean body but also costumes, hair, face she seems to retain a feel of the old MK2 days for some reason. Before her my favorite female character was Mileena, she still is but I get the impression that Mileena is out for good and Li Mei is in. I hope this is not true but if Li Mei is to appear in future games they need to adjust her storyline, because right now it is perfect for this game but gives her no point for returning.

She is good, but not the very best, dont get me wrong she is my favorite female character in MKDA and I use her a lot, but from my experience with her she is not my top choice, shes in my top 5 but not #1.

Movie wise i think Lei-Mei has potential. but the question is who would play her?!?!? In my opinion Kelly Hu would be nice or maybe Lucy Lawless.
The Look
To be honest, what caught my attention about Li Mei was obviously her ample chest. Look, they're too obvious to miss! Anyway, that was that, and I never thought anything about her character.
Nevertheless, something did draw me to her later, I don't know what. I have been a big fan of Liu Kang ever since I played my first MK, and maybe that was it.
The Feel
Yes, She does seem a little off MK, something like a Tekken fighter. But she has a mix of previous fighters, like the sai and the flying fists do bring back memories of Liu Kang's bike kick. So I started experimenting with her, her moves and combos, and she can do a max of 32%, which is not bad. Her foot sweep is one of the deadliest.
The Taste
But I think Midway were just experimenting with her. I think they didn't want to bring back too many old characters, but at the same time retain some stuff to still make it sentimental (like Mavado for Kabal).
The Actor
Yeah, I agree that if Li Mei were caucasian, Lucy Lawless would be an excellent choice to play her (same hairstyle and height). If not, if she were to wear some really massive bustiers, then Fann Wong (of Shanghai Knights) would be my choice.

I think they just stole her from namco. She looks defenitely like a tekken character. However her speed is increadible and I like her style.
But when you look at female characters as Sonya, and Kitana, they have a a large mk history. Also Nitara and Frost have a cool look. Li Mei doesn't have this at all
