I have been watching G4 for a while tonight and not real happy. They were doing a show about cheats and there is one thing they were talking about... It was the Codebreaker and it said the day Deception comes out, that it will have cheats for it within hours of the games release... So i am like Great.. Now i am discouraged to play online because some wus wants to to use god mode or one button 12 hit combos.
What is the point in even playing now if a punkbuster isn't setup for MK:D
Any thoughts?

personally i am astounded that anyone would want to cheat in a fighting game! play like a real man and actually learn the combos and specials!!!! besides, even if someone cheated i would still beat them with raiden

lol.. man they ment that cheats will be like unlocking all the chars and so farth.. there will be no god mode for online.. but offline yes... and if they did then xbox and even ps2 will ban you from the game.. since thats what punkbuster does..

Ok so maybe i jumped the gun. I have not played online through Xbox or PS2 yet. Do they have punkbuster or an equivelent? And who's to say someone can't mod the codebreaker. You put the code in before you start the game right? So the code is enabled and you decide your tired of playing the AI. and you go online. Will it automaticly disable the cheats? Will there be a safegaurd logging into a server. I am only used to Quake and Unreal that have Punkbuster servers. Is it similar to Xbox and PS2?

i hate cheaters... hopefully the online mode will block any cheat interference
I don't think the PS2 or X-BOX servers will allow online cheats. Something changes when you go online, and I think it renders any cheats only available offline. Phantasy Star Online for Dreamcast and Gamecube were similar. Cheats for them online simply don't exist. Besides, I know that if you get caught cheating... you get kicked off, permenantly from all online servers. I wouldn't want to risk it. I mean, you fight one guy, he woops your ass, and then he notices your life bar doesn't go down. He'll go straight to the people in charge and get your lousy butt thrown out.
I've cheated before, even in MK:DA. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, but I agree that to cheat online is cowardly and shallow. When I go online, I want a fair fight, and be it my ass get kicked or I kick the other guy's ass, at least it will be fair. But, I don't think this will be a problem. Only illegal hackers can put in cheats for online games, and they are rare and few-between. No "official" codes will ever allow online cheating.
Fatality.
