Close Kombat- Check this out. Battle Damage!

I watched a video the other day and Ed Boon was talking about close Kombat, among other features. It's a lot cooler than I thought. In this fight between Scorpion and Flash, you see Scorpion's mask knocked off. Flash delivers a devastating punch(while in close kombat) and Scorpion's mask goes flying into the background, revealing his skull face. Look close, the video is fair.
Damage is what I've always wanted more of in video games. Of all the newest additions to MK these days, this is my favorite. Boon mentions that you'll see rips in costumes and helmets braking off. That's fukin' awesome! Maybe broken/severed limbs will be next(like in the new Splatterhouse game) Opponents will start crawling away by the end of the fight.

Wonder if Batman or any DC characters we'll lose the mask after so many hits. I doubt it, it doesn't happen in the comics. It would be really cool though.

Now what would be interesting is if Shao Kahns helmet could break and we could see that fierce ugly mug under there.

Yea, I like how Shao Kahn's helmet got broken off in MKSM. Liu Kang/Kung Lao hits him in the face with his own hammer. He gets really pissed off after that. His face reminds me a little like Baraka....not as ugly though.

yeah but it did not look as good as it had in the comics

I'd say with Shao Kahn it's a good possibility that battle damage could cause his helmet to be broken or knocked off. Right now (according to midway **Boon**) DC will not allow the superheroes masks to be damaged or knocked off.

That's weird that DC cares about the masks being knocked off. That would be really cool to see all the characters take some serious damage, not just MK. Maybe we'll see the DC villians take some damage then.
