Well, I never really used them that often to be honest. It was nice that they allowed you to have some interactivity with the loading screen (since that's basically what it was), but given how fast games are able to load these days, I'd rather not slow up the process of getting into the action if it doesn't need to be.

Overall though, I just didn't find the codes to be all that interesting or useful. It was kinda "code overkill" if you ask me. After all the hype over the ultimate kombat code, and how annoyed I was at trying to figure it out, I was kinda sick of codes after MK3. I mean seriously, the game gave no hints (MK1 at least had clues on how to fight Reptile!) and didn't even tell you if you had entered any individual ones correctly.

So yeah, not a fan of the codes for all of those reasons. Find a better vehicle for secrets than the krypt or codes.

MK 2 was cool for the kodes, other than that, it's a no for me.
