I'm sorry but I think that you're wrong. I think there's a definete possibility that Liu will be the sub-boss but I don't think that after you beat him his soul would be released. I think (along with about 99.9% of everyone else here) that Liu Kang's zombie and ghost forms are alternate outfits and that he will either (a) be an unlockable playable fighter or (b) be a "super secret" character

I also think Liu will be a super secret character, as well as a sub boss, but the whole "spirit into the afterlife" thing was just a suggestion. But what would Liu Kangs purpose be as a sub boss?

Hope he is the sub-boss.

I think it would be cool if he changed from ghost to zombie etc between rounds depending on who wins the first round,or if a flawless victory triggers the transformation.

Hope he is playable though even if he is a sub boss.

Scorpion, that's a VERY interesting idea you've got there. Liu Kang as the sub boss?? Wow, I like it a lot. The hero of MK becomes second in command to quite possibly the best boss we've seen in an MK game (or at the very least, the most intimidating!)

I'm not quite sure about your idea on what happens between the ghost and zombie forms, but it's definitely possible. Anything's possible after all. So I wouldn't dismiss that idea completely, but I'm just saying that I wouldn't count on it. Still, I like the idea, and I like Liu Kang as the sub boss.

I believe I've narrowed the sub-boss down to three possible choices:

1) Super-Reptile* (de-evolved to a fast, nasty primal beast)

2) Liu Kang (the Champion of Earthrealm's soul has been tainted, can you release the pure Liu Kang we all remember?)

3) Someone we know nothing about (ie: Onaga/Havik, whichever one isn't "Skab")

I hope it's Liu Kang. I love Liu Kang.

I like the idea of having either Super Reptile or Zombie Liu Kang as a sub boss. It would add a nice twist in the storyline. However, I would rather see Zombie Kang be the sub boss. The champion of Earthrealm becoming a 'pet' for the Dragon King? Sounds very deceiving to me

I thank you for your comments. I thought of the idea, and it sounded pretty good, so I posted it. But I have a new theory about the Sub Boss as Liu Kang- he is trying to protect the DK. I dont know why or what for, but he would be a sub boss trying to protect the DK.

Aye, I believe it will be Kang. DK controls an undead army. Kang is undead now. He, earth's champion, would be the perfect pawn to fight for and protect the DK.

Still thinking Shang Tsung is disguised as Liu Kang, the purity of Kang's sould conflict with Tsungs morphing abilities, leaving the ghost/zombie appearance.

Luis not super secret or we wouldn't know about him he was confirmed. Also if he's the sub which I think he is he wouldn't be super secret. Because there unlocked in Konquest.

Did you go to the site and go to the side,click on mk deception?After that go down the page and you will see him.He has pale grey skin with blood under his eyes.It does look like the mk 4 Liu though...

I think that the Sub-Boss could be both of Liu Kangs forms in like an Endourance Challenge thing...

Besides you fighting him as a sub boss.. you would possibly have to fight him in konquest mode(he would be in a secret spot) and like win with a double flawless to win him as a character to fight with.

I did suggest many months ago that Liu Kang might be the sub boss. The unanimous response to this was "BLEH!"

the deception could be that liu kang is being decieved by the dragon king which would make liu kang like a body guard....or something.

I dunno, if would be cool if liu kang came back as a bad guy. Many people didnt like him to begin with, so changing his alliance might help to bring back some spark to the storyline.
