I made this thread over at Midway. I have an Idea, since this game is T-rated, but people want hara-kiri's to take away the pleasure of a fatality from the opponent, kind of cowardly, I call it COWARDICE or ESCAPE here's what you do. It has to do with as said, the opponent using cowardly means to escape.
Specifically for each character (confirmed and obvious characters)
MK
Scorpion: Teleport punches opponent and teleports off
Sub-Zero: Freezes the opponent, and runs off
Sonya: Uses a kiss of death, and runs off
Shang Tsung: Gestures for the opponent to look behind them, as they do, he punches them and teleports off.
Reptile: Spits acid at the opponent, then turns invisible and runs off
Liu Kang: Intentionally misses a fireball at the opponent and as they're distracted, he runs off
Kano: Cannonballs past the opponent and runs off
DC
Superman: Opponent goes in for the kill, as he stops them in their tracks, and flies off.
Batman: Uses a smoke bomb to blid the opponent as he shoots up a grappling hook and zips off
Catwoman: Uses her whip to trip the opponent and runs off
Flash: Blocks a punch and zooms off
Captain Marvel: Gestures opponent to look behind them, as they do he uses SHAZAM! to turn into Billy West (or w/e the kid's name is) they can't hit a kid and he runs off.
Joker: uses laughing gas to stun the opponent as he runs off
Martian Manhunter: The opponent punches as J'onn becomes intangible and flies off
That's all I got for now, I'll update as characters are revealed.

That doesn't sound half bad. But ya know what would make a move like this 10 times better? is if they were actually counters to a fatality being done on you. Say if you get defeated by a friend in vs mode, and they go into their fatality or brutality, and if you get your timing just right you will be able to counter their fatality and go into the moves you've described above. ^_^

I figured that would be too much work for them though. Think about it, that would mean incorporating different animations for every character in mid-fatality state, doesn't seem realistic

If they really wanted it in the game, I'm sure they'd make it happen.

Definitely NOT.
For one, I honestly believe this game is wayyyy too serious to have something silly like a "retreat" I'm just trying to picture that and that's comical, Boon said a while ago that this game will be serious, no comic nonsense this time around. Which is what I want honestly
