Darius' Styles and weapons- two weapon styles?

On the Darius bio link @ IGN, it shows him fighting with both a sword, called a "quad-something", but then it shows him w/ Gauntlets. Boon then talks about how he has these gauntlet things which no one else has. Do you think that maybe the sword was changed to the gauntlets during production? After all, he does have Scorpion's arm rip fatality now, so I guess things change.
The "Quadspade" is a stage weapon.
