Deception in the bios!

I have believed for a long time now that the bios we have received and read are not complete. Enemies for certain characters seem to be missing as well as friends and allies of some characters.
Some information in the bios also seems to be sketchy and incomplete. Ashrahs is a good example of this.
And, judging by how the bios are written, we may be being deceived by them. Take Tanyas for example. It speaks in the first person as if she is telling us her story. We know Tanya to be evil, deceptive, cunning, sly etc. Since the bio is written in the first person, what if she along with other characters are using their own words to deceive us into believing they're something they are not?
Tanyas bio makes her seem somewhat good and we know that isn't the case. The deception here is to make us feel that she might be trying to be good and then she will suddenly shock us later on. This will add to the deception feel and the drama of the story as it is like she has just lied to us directly.
What do you think?
And thanks to queve who suddenly triggered this thought in our latest convo.

This is indeed a very good observation!!! Highly possible.
I actually hope its true since I dislike Tanya's known Bio very much. Its so simple....so not her, she almost sounds like a good guy/girl!

I think the Characters are telling their stories in first person to deceive people, and to make us fall into their stories and deceive us from their deception.
I think the bios may not be completed either, because not all of their 'friends' 'enemies' are complete, plus their bios are very brief. However I guess we have to make until MKD. wink

Why does everyone thinks that everything we get is made to deceive us. It's just a bio. The game being named Deception doesn't mean that everything is.

lol Thanks, man! I like Tanyas bio. Looking at it another way, she seems troubled.
Hopefully, this is true though. I would want Tanya to be at her evil best!

These are my beliefs too. The characters directly lying to us is a great way to write the bios imo. It would add more depth to the story and help draw us in some more and make us feel apart of the story.
I hope this is a definite possibility.

tgrant and queve nice thinking, cause we never know if they are telling us the truth or not since some people are evil and just trying to deceive us or they are leaving some juicy stuff out that they dont want us to know.
I like these first person bios even if they are meant to deceive us or just are really telling us the truth.

Exactly. Someone like Tanya cannot be trusted fully based on what she says. We have seen how she acts and know what she is like, so why should we fully believe what she says?
We could never tell if she was being truthful or not.

I agree with you TGrant. Not in a bad way, MK Deception is the most unclear story so far. The bios for me are a bit confusing since why do some characters have allies that have been thought to be dead? Doesn't make since to me. As well as some of the characters like Noob Smoke and Radien. I have tons of questions, I fear I will spend most of my time in Konquest mode, instead of training -_- to uncover the MK: Deception.

i dont see how her bio makes her seem like a good gal confused confused in mk4 she served shinnok and quan chi.during mkda she was serving the deadly alliance,now mk6 she's serving onaga.
her 1st task, was/is to over take the throne in edenia. which she did, if u read sindels and jades trading cards. she got the statue for the dragon king..
now what i am actually curious about, is how will mileena take the news of tanya having control of the throne and not her? if sindel and kitana end up dead after all of this drAgon king stuff.. tanya might still have control of the throne.. i see a jade/mileena/tanya fight over the throne in a future mk..

It would be funny if she called herself a lying little bitch in her bio..but thats not likely and logical...so there's nothing deceiving in her bio at my opinion..but I could be wrong, although thats not likely either because im rarely wrong..winkgrin

Yeah I know, same here, there are many thoughts in my mind floating around concerning MK:D. I kinda get confused at times, then my brain has to reboot again. lol

that would be very cool if we are trick and persuded by the character them selves.
this idea would be very cool in Konquest cause you get to meet the character face to face, and you get to choose if you want to believe them or not.
other then that i think its boon way of making us understand the character by having it written or said in there own words, so it is like we are being told a story.

Okay, do we even know what the actual "Deception" is? I have a feeling that it's just one worthwhile part in the plot and doesn't go as deep as every character trying to trick us through telling their story (though it is a good theory).
I like MK and the MK team, but I don't think they'd be as deep as you're suggesting. The First person view is most likely a minor (but welcome) twist on telling their bios.

what im curious about that pertains to the Bios is if the ones posted at IGN are gonna be the same ones included with the Kollectors Edition. If so, im definitely not getting it, ill save the 10 bones for all the other games im copping this year.

I agree with you. It's not like Tanya came up to us and said "Hey, my name's Tanya. Let me explain my past." maybe it's what she's thinking, would she lie to herself? Maybe she never even really said it anyways, I'll go with that. Decieving bios would be so annoying, I sincerely hope that this is not the case.

teh trading kards only give part of the bio - the rest is mostly background info on the character.The real in game bios are like in DA - in 2 parts and therefore go into more detail.

Hmm..that hadn't occured to me. Very interesting, and ENTIRELY Likely. Tanya was good to use for an example. lol..you may just be right. I wouldn't rule it out.

I know I’ll be on Konquest a lot trying to piece together the story. MKd has set up a lot of interesting side stories along with the main story. I can’t wait to find out everything.

She doesn’t seem evil enough in her bio. It’s almost as if she isn’t doing anything for herself. I believe Tanya to be selfish and Deceptive, but all she wants here in her bio is to go home. It seems she only did all of what she did so she could go to Edenia.
However, what you say is true. Mileenas reaction won’t be a pleasnt one. She and Tanya will most likely clash at some point.

Lol That would be funny. She probably does. And maybe there is no deception in the bio, but it’s a possibility.
