Earlier today, I went to my local mall and into their EBGames store and chatted with my friend, Greg, who's the manager of the store. I asked him a bunch of stuff, and then I had to get going, too many people wanting to shop in there, you know. What I did get from him while I was there chillin' with him was that the game comes out on October 4'th, and the guide they get on October 5'th. I also found out information on Konquest mode. He said, "Just to name a few, there are arena's, keys, koins, FAQ's, clues on where to find certain characters around what times, and BIG secrets." So I told him to be more specific about the BIG secrets. (Of course I did, I mean really, WHO WOULDN'T!? LOL) So he said, "There are secret characters in the game. Sort of like Blaze from the last game, Deadly Alliance." He said there will be not a big amount of them, but a fair amount which leads me to believe its probably within the range of 3-6. He said that his sources have been telling him that these secret characters are about as secret as you can get, and they will take a lot of time and patience to find. He said 20% of the games secrets won't even be printed into the strategy guide. So, now that I'm back home, I called him just a minute ago, because he is on his lunch break and got a bunch of other info from him I thought you guys might like to know.
- Noob-Smoke is easily one of the coolest Sub-Bosses yet, and compared to Sub-Bosses such as Moloch and Goro, they are difficult and tricky sometimes. You must always keep your eyes open, or else they will team up on you, and you WILL suffer a great amount of damage. If your lucky, it'll only be a minimun hit.
- Kabal is evil, or so they make you think. They make you believe a bunch of crap about the characters this time around. (Right then he gave an evil kind of laugh)
- Tanya will be VERY deceptive in her own little ways, and a very big feud with another female is hinted at to start.
- He also says that each secret character will be found differently, so it will be very difficult to find them, unlike Blaze and Mokap from Deadly Alliance. None of them are easy at all, and as you go unlocking them, they all pretty much increase in difficulty to find.
- He also notes that Liu Kang, Tanya, and Dairou have some of the coolest fatalities ever seen in a Mortal Kombat game.
- The last thing I could get from him was about an ending. He didn't say anything in detail about what it said and showed, but all he told me was that it leaves the storyline wide open for a HUGE battle/war between the realms and it would imply one of the biggest shockers ever seen in a Mortal Kombat game, storyline wise.
I trust the information he gives me, because I have known him for almost two years and we are very close friends now. He tells me info on games all the time, and I didn't believe him when he told me a couple weeks ago that GTA: San Andreas would be held back, but once again, his sources proved to be right. So ya'll can take this as you will, but I just wanted to share this information with you, because if he's right, which he always is, 99.9% of the time, then this is VERY cool indeed.
