Deception is FAR, FAR, FAR from being even the FIFTH best fighting game.
This is obviously either posted by a hardcore fanboy who would rate a complete piece of shit a 9.8 because MK was in the title, or a person who has little experience with real fighters, but loves violence in video games.
I'm sorry, I'm an MK fan since the first game, but MK is HARDLY a great series any more.

well id rate MKD a 9.7/10 honestly. yes very high (wich is very rare for me to rate high like that). and yes i am a hardcore fanboy but i honestly believe thats the score it deserves. MKDA id give a 8.5/10 so ya i think MKD is a huge improvement. b4 MKD id say Soul Calibur 2 was the best fighter around. now with MKD ya it is the best around for sure and will be for a very long time.
Just curious why you would rate MK:D over MK:DA? With deception you lost several aspects of the system and only gained combo breakers. Having reversals powerups backdash/escape moves and impales would add more aspects to this game and most of all on da there wasn't this artifical lag for moves. I do a move on deception and I can actually move or sidestep before I can do ANYTHING else I can't attack I can't block. Does this make sense in any way? Does it make sense I'm trying to do a juggle and it's made difficult simply because there is a full second where my character stares blankly at the falling opponent and wonders if maybe he should hit him.

ok, all characters being playable? well... then mk:d would'nt be released yet since they would have to take... oh lets see, theres twenty-eight characters in the game, sixty-seven in the entire series, it would take more then twice as long as it was being made beforehand, because then they would have to make special moves, character models, styles, weapons, etc., and with all that going on they would have to reemove puzzle, chess and konquest all together or the game's graphics would make mk4 look like mk:da in comparison.
the game is made, i think it should stay as it is and people, if they like the game, should enjoy it as it is, theres no use to go over to ed boon and scream at him for making a game that you enjoyed not as great as it could of been.
sorry if i came off harsh, but thats just how i feel.

Giving a complete piece of crap a high grade just because it has MK in the title? Sorry, even the hardcore MK fans wouldn't do that. Just try and find a good review of MK Special Forces if you don't believe me.
Well mk special forces wasnt a fighting game neither was mythologies. However I believe it's safe to say the poster meant that they would give a crap fighting game a high rating just for having MK in the title. There are numerous complaints about the engine unresponsiveness of the game glitches infinites severe balance issues etc... anybody who denys those are fooling themselves. Puzzle kombat is good however and for a lot of people they find something fun about the game. Personally I, and many others, can't play a fighting game that has a badly designed engine and still enjoy it for anything other than making combos. Deception fails to appeal to me even in the making absurd combos area due to the short cut of adding unreasonable amounts of time where you can't attack or block yet you can still move. It's always fun to do a long combo and know I could get more hits on every other fighting game in existance with any form of a juggle system but this game kobra walks into the opponent unable to bring himself to hit them further and watches them fall to the ground....

cuz MKD is much better. yes the tuants, reversals, impales, ect were removed and i dont understand y. but then again none of those were that important in the first place imo. well except for the escape moves (like Sub-Zero's slide back ect.) wich i really miss. but with all that out doesnt bother me one bit. the combo breakers is all we need. the combo breakers them selves make the gameplay better than in MKDA cuz their that damn good.
ok this lag u speak of.... cmon now that isnt that bad. its like in MKDA if not better. i find MKD gameplay wise to be faster than in MKDA. and not to mention the much better stages in MKD. overall gameplay wise during Kombat is far better than in MKDA. and also having MK Chess and Puzzle Kombat adds a lot. Konquest mode is the weakness of MKD but still its decent and actually seems most ppl like it (i hate it tho). plus theres online play wich is big for console games these days. and it just has so much content in the game its amazing. it out beats MKDA truely by soooooo much. i finished MKDA and wasnt REALLY enjoying it any more after just a month. unlocked every thing and mastered the chars i wanted to in a week including the SU's. with MKD no one has even found the SU's yet and im still playing it and loving it. probably will for months to come too.
o also so i dont forget.... MKD out does MKDA in the audio department truely by far. the audio doesnt suck in MKDA but it isnt that great either.
overall i dont see how any can honestly believe MKDA out does MKD in ANY way. gameplay it goes to MKD by far. graphics... well due MKD lol. audio again MKD (not perfect but better than in MKDA). replay value MKD again. and fun factor? MKD is much funner.
its alright if u LIKE MKDA better. i dont care if u LIKE it better or MKD better. i can totally understand y any one likes MKDA better than MKD. but still ur in denial if u think MKDA is better than MKD. liking one better is different from saying one is better.
I like DA better than deception however neither is anywhere near the best in the series. You honestly don't think removing reversals was a bad thing? Go back and play DA some like I have been and you will notice the difference in the artificial delay put into the moves. As for mastering characters it takes a lot less time to master anybody in deception. Without reversals and the ability to block throws it boils down to a 50/50 game. Learn what your characters 50/50's are and go at it. I don't care about puzzle kombat or chess kombat or konquest. chess kombat is basicly just another version of arcade and puzzle kombat is puzzle fighter. Niether makes the actual fighting engine any better. The fighting engine was more polished in DA than it is in deception. No way would I ever trade the ability to block throws and reversals for 3 combo breakers but thats just me.

one thing is that what can be better then mk deception? and if you don't like it so much then why are you in forum and nother thing it is worth the wait if they where to have all of those char in an mk game it would be awsome

The throw was designed in all fighting games to break your guard, they need to be unblockable. You should not be invincible just because you are blocking. What many people fail to realize is that there is a difference between blockable throws and throw breaks. A throw break is where some one attempts to throw you and you throw them back in the given frames of animation so that both of the characters simply push apart from each other and no damage is taken. Thats what this game needed, also what it needed was a simple wake up game to stop the 50/50 guessing game. I like DA better than deception however neither is anywhere near the best in the series. You honestly don't think removing reversals was a bad thing? Go back and play DA some like I have been and you will notice the difference in the artificial delay put into the moves. A wake up move is a defensive attack that you can initiate after being knocked down by a move or a thow if your opponent attempts to continue the 50/50 guessing games. An example of this would be say for instance Noob is continuously alternating between high and low attacks (Hence the 50/50 guessing game) and sweeps Scorpion off his feet, with high priority given to Scorpions Flaming flip kick, and the ability to input the command while still on the ground would enable Scorpion to rise up from the ground with the Flip kick thus halting Noobs mix up plan and damaging him for his failed attempt. If the developers implemented this into MK:D the game would have been more respected by the fighting community. I still like the game but I have high hopes that the developers will finally listen to our cries now (High level players), they have already given in to the fatality requests for more ways to kill the opponent after the match.
How about more ways to thwart your oponents advance durring the match where all the action is, thats what I want. I'm happy that MK:D won the award but in order to keep the momentum going they will need to implement the simple additions that I mentioned above or else it's flame will slowly burn out again.
Peace, and pray for a wake up game in future MK's
