In every mk game the characters have one throw move. Most fighting games have stepped up a little and made more than one throw per character. I think mkd should do the same.

I agree, and different throws for different angles.

agreed, but some characters in MKDA had more than 1 throw (kano, hsu hao, cyrax, jax, kung lao).

I agree. But the reason some characters like Kano, Jax, and Cyrax had more than one throw was because that was part of their fighting styles. Alot of Akido and Judo is joint locking and throwing. They should have two powerful main throws seperate from their styles, like MKDA had. You had a specific "throw button" attack. Quan Chi had the best one, where he stands on your knees and thighs and bitch pounds you 4 times. I think two throws should be good, or maybe two throws for each style. Perhaps one throw in which they use their powers (when in different styles they perform a different throw with their special abilities), and the other when they use their fighting skill (when they switch styles, they throw their opponent differently according to the fighting style selected and are in). For example- Quan Chi could keep his bitch slap attack throw in Tang So Do, and in Escrima he can have a totally different throw attack when you press the same button. To perform the different special attack throws in each style, you have to press something different.

I have two remarks about throws: One, I know this is a total ripoff of Tekken, but I think MK should have chain throws. Two, I like how some throws have special properties, like those that "bounce" the opponent ex. Drahmin's punching bag throw. Noob's teleport slam did this in UMK3 as well. I also liked how Nitara's throw recovered health. Maybe multiple throws could open more possibilities.

As for multiple throws just for the sake of it, having no special characteristics, it'd be nice, but not necessary.

totally agree, i loved the throws in SC and think it'd be a great addition to MK's gameplay.

Definitely a good idea brought up in this thread. Personally, I think that characters that have throw based styles (such as Judo) should use a lot of throws. Not just one or two or three, but nine or ten. I think that each character should have a bare MINIMUM of six or seven throws. Four from the front, and one on each side and from behind. Characters with throw styles should have nine or ten in addition to those. Throws help give characters a sense of uniqueness as far as move sets are concerned. With several different throws, perhaps Scorpion and Kenshi wouldn't have seemed so similar regular moves-wise.

MK should use more bone breaking throws, only show the bone snap out when something gets ripped.

PS: I also like the idea about throws having effects on characters. Perhaps Reptile could use a biting move that poisons his opponent and slowly drains their health for a while. Throws could create combo opportunities, gain health back for some characters, dizzy characters etc. Good ideas guys!

i like doombringers idea of a throw in each style and perhaps the same button in fatality stance could produce a bone breaker. then there will be no bitching of bonebreakers being unrealistic during the rounds if they are done at the end of the game.

here are a few throws i thought of that could tie in to the character:
jax - 3D multislam, perhaps gotcha grab
kano - headbutt, shaker
sonya - something along the lines of a leg grab n toss
raiden - electric shock (mkda) knee to the head (mk4)
shang - a multi fireball (tribute to his mk1/2 fireballs). 2nd one could be to do a throw of the opponent he is fighting.

The throwing system itself needs to be redefined before any "extra" throws are implemented.

There is a lot of room for improvement as far as throws go in MK. I mean look at Soul Calibur, MK should take a hint.

I think that Deception should go farther with the fighting engine. They should take it to the level of Dead Or Alive 3 and Virtua Fighter 4 with different throws, moves, taunts and counters/reversals.

Hey thanks for all the good feed back. I see from the looks of things mk needs a face lift in the throw dept. I love the idea of more than one throw and every player should have there own set of throws. Chain throws would be sweet also as long as it does not take off too much damage. well we will see soon enough. not very long before E3.
