What did you like better, when there's an assigned button command for some of the signature moves for every fighter. Ex: everyone's uppercut is down triangle, every sweep being back circle, etc.

Or no designated moves, this being more like how deadly alliance was.

This would make the game very boring, and if everyone is going to have the same kind of moves, then it's really not fighting at all, it's just, lets see how many moves we can do at the same time.

To explain it better, the first example of having the assigned moves is more like Deception and Armageddon. The fighters still have their own unique moves, but the uppercut for all is always down2 (down triangle for the PS2/3).

By not having it, the example is Deadly Alliance. For instance, some had uppercuts, but it wasn’t always down2, it could be back1 or something else. And some didn’t even have an uppercut altogether, making it more unique.

Although the fighting engine is going to be totally different, it's still something to consider.

I'd be okay with not everyone having a designated uppercut, sweep, and roundhouse...as long as it makes logical sense to the character.

In Deadly Alliance, Scorpion didn't have an uppercut. SCORPION didn't have an uppercut. WTF is THAT? How the hell are you supposed to do the classic spear-uppercut combo if half of it isn't in the game?

Well, honestly the uppercut was indeed useful and logical element in the older 2D MK's.

However, in the 3D MK's being that the game mechanics worked differently they were in there because the fans again demanded they'd be put in so Midway said ok, let's add some nostalgia element and we saw this in MKD and MKA...

For MK8 I don't think they'll be back and given the new engine, it wouldn't make sense unless they can make it work well. I don't want them back in this game honestly, they were good anti-air elements in the 2D games, but not in the 3D games unless you were in a weapon style
