The intro is really fireball heavy. Its like I was watching an episode of Dragonball Z. I swear, I was expecting Raiden to yell out "KAIO-KEN" or Quan Chi to say "I am the prince of all Saiyans!" Its a pretty good intro though.

On a related note, did anyone notice what appear to be bodies laying outside of Shang Tsung's palace?

Yeah I know, the intro was way too DBZ-ish despite the overall good quality of it. If it would have stayed with the hand to hand fighting with an occasional special attack it would've been the best.
