Do u have to unlock normal characters from konquest or you just buy it in the krypt?

i dont have the game yet but i am getting it today. but i had a question, do u have to unlock chracters like Noob Smoke from konquest or can u just get him from the krypt and play as him?

if im not mistaken noob smoke and jade r the only 2 chars u can unlock through the krypt
