Do u like it?
G'day boys...
I still can not play MK: D so I have some questions for you:
1.If MK: DA was 6/10 what would you give MK: D compared to MK: D?
2.Does the character models look like how they looked like in MK : DA? (Plastic)
3.When you learn a 5+ hit combo, can you beat every cpu character with it like in MK: DA?
4.Does the non-fluid animation system stays?
5.Can you notice the quality differences between characters (in MK: DA - Scorpion, Sub Zero, Quan Chi, Shang Tsung are High Quality and Hsu Hao, Mavado, Jax are low quailty in both design, animation, moves wise... ) ?
6.Do the good old Uppercuts, sweeps, roundhouse kick return (not style based, just down+hp, back+lk, back+hk)...
7.Do you like the new breaker system and how are the throws? Are there good throws like in Tekken and Soul Calibur?
The last Question: Do you like it? :)
BTW don't get me wrong I'm a MK fan since 93 and I think MK: DA was/is great... Why? Because MK universe have CHARACTERS, not fighting punks like other games... Ok if you ask me Tekken characters I can say: Jin, Heihachi, Kazuya, Hwoarang... but if you ask MK I can say 30-40 names here :) and don't say read xyz review... I never trust reviews from internet....

I'll try to answer as well as I can.
1. I give MK:D a 9/10. This is a huge game. Its like 4 games in one with all the extra stuff added. Multiple fatalities and stage fatalities set MK:D far apart from MK:DA in my opinion.
2. Don't know what you mean here. The graphics are very similar to MK:DA but the character models don't bother me one bit.
3. You can beat the computer with small combos like that but I would guess the harder difficulties make it much harder to win easily like that. I could be wrong though.
4. can't answer cause I don't know lol. Sorry.
5. As far as I can tell, I don't see a difference. Someone with a more trained eye might be able to spot something out though.
6. Depends on what character you're using.
7. I really like the breaker system. Its very valuable. The throws are good. Some better than others of course.
I love this game. Its consumed any free time I've had lately (which isn't that much. Thats why I can't answer your questions in greater detail). Konquest will consume your soul. Very deep and could be deeper than any of us realize. Arcade mode is classic. The storylines are pretty good. I haven't tried Puzzle or Chess yet. I'll get to that in time. You won't regret getting this game. Hope that helps you out some.

1. 7.5/10.
2. Yes, they still look plastic.
3. With breakers, not as often. After the breakers run out, it is back to MKDA tactics.
4. Yes.
5. Almost every character is of the same quality this time, as in character design and animation.
6. Only uppercuts are once again universal (Down + 2), but there are different animations depending on style, limiting the effectiveness of them.
7. The new breaker system is nothing special. It has a universal, simple execution; it can only be used three times per round; it can be used to break out of juggles; it has no risk vs. reward factor, you just break when you are getting combo'd. After the breakers are expended, gameplay returns to MKDA style. Throws have more varied animations, but are nothing too special, and definitely not to the level of the other fighters.
8. It's alright, but I'd rather play Naruto (JP) on Gamecube.

You're welcome dude.
Wish I could've given you more details but work has kept me away from the PS2. Which sucks I might add. LOL
Bumping threads isn't allowed here.
1. MK:D is an easy 9/10 for me
2. Character models look great because of the increase in polygon count and detail.
3. I never knew you could beat any CPU character with a 5-hit combo in DA. Try putting it on MAX difficulty instead of novice, lol.
4. Animation gets in the way of blocking and very few juggles.
5. Again, quality is very good. Big differences in the fighters are noticeable, and all are high quality, especially on HDTV.
6. Uppercuts are back, but are not necessarily the same as used in 2D MK games. There is no HP, HK, LP, LK (known for a while). No roundhouses I believe, and each character has at least one sweep.
7. Breaker system is alright, they could have made it harder to do, but 3 per match seems like a good total. Throws aren't blockable, and I can't really decide if this is good or not. Helps against people who block all the damn time, but then again, that is what low attacks are for. Never played Tekken or SOul Calibur because MK is simply the best.
Overall, this game is great. I'm not only saying that because I've been a fan since MK2 was released, but this game and all its extra features are awesome. Not only do you get a great arcade mode with a wide selection of different characters, but also you get an awesome chess game, which is fun to play against a friend. Same goes with Puzzle Kombat. The Konquest mode is a 15+ hour adventure mode, which you will become addicted to if you like unlocking secrets such as myself. Some of the secrets are so hard to find, that it make take you decades to find them on your own without any help whatsoever, specifically Liu Kang's alternate outfit and some of Shujinko's moves. Definately worth the buy, especially when you got surround sound and HDTV like myself to enhance the play.
