Or will the hype bring it down? Will it be the "Greatest Fighting Game of 2004" or just a rehash of MK:DA? Will it be ground-breaking, or just another "good game"? Your thoughts. Fatality.

It will exeed my expectations.

Let me begin with DA. DA was a TOTAL SHOCK for me, i never even heard about it, let alone thought anything of it. It was my girlfriends housemate that mentioned it one day in 2003, sometime in january. We rented it from blockbuster and had an awesome 5 days unlocking the characters and playing the game in vs. mode. In this aspect i HAD NO EXPECTATIONS, it came off as a surprise. ( i didnt play games much from 2000 to 2003 because of college ).

NOW, in the summer of 2004, i have been following Deception quite closely. Though i havent been watching the movies, or reading everything about it, i have generated quite a bit of hype for myself and i am expecting this game to make DA look obsolete. I know this will be the fighting game of 2004, no doubt.

I cant wait to play it

to be honest, i dont know, but i dotn think it will, cause i always expect alot, and no game i have played has exceeded my expectations, in fact, they havent come close... but i have ah uge imagination, so it might be because of that, i expect things that could take even longer to put into a game, or maybe impossible

I am hoping it will exceed my expectations.Hopefully they do something with the fighting system to make me curse myself for ever doubting that this game would rock.

From what I've seen MK: D like MK: DA will exceed ,my expectations. Why do you ask? Well lets consider this. 1. MK: D is only 20% complete, now the game is looken damn good for a game thats only 20% done and it will tons better in the final version. Second reason is only play. Arcades here in the US are dead. Now MK: D online will not only bring the arcade feeling back , it will take it far beyond it. It will so since MK: D will allow one to fight people all across the world not just your local arcade communty. Heck you may be able to meet someone that you used to know a few years ago or even you might have moved away from were you used to live, but still be able to fight a friend online. 3rd Everything that MK: DA wasn't. I feel that MK: DA is one of the best fighting games out and also the best MK game ever, but there were a few areas that were bit if a let down. ( to me the music and fatalites were not as good as past MKs) .4th the fighting system as with MK1 was to MK2 the gameplay was far faster than MK1. With much to be done with the new fighting system, it is good to hear that the figthing int he system is faster than the one MK: DA. In all I can't wait to see how thing turn out with the 50% new fighting engine. Again just from the E3 videos MK: D is on the right track( Good job MK team). Now the only thing left is that Frost returns :.(

Given the facts that I know about the game today and the features that it will have, I can say that it might meet my expectations.

However a games features do not alone attribute to its success, gameplay matters most to me.

So far it has already failed to meet my expectations with the fact that the Konquest will not have a full create-a-character option. Instead we get stuck with that one boy who grows up to be an old man. Also the fact that they seem to be leaving out some of the best characters of MK. Its great to bring back some of the guys and gals from MK3/UMK3, but don't forget the ones who have make MK great: Raiden, Sonya, etc.

True Raiden is rumored to be in MK:D, but even if he is he will not be one of the primary characters you can choose from instead you will have to unlock him like you did in MK:DA. Why?

Nice topics!

Well I think that MK:D will exceed my expectations unless they allow the 'Death Traps' to end the whole match.

It already has met my expectations, whether it exceeds being only 20% done remains to be seen. I'd say it most probably will. I just can't wait to play it. It looks fun and challenging and most importantly its got that dark simplicity that it lost since MK3. I'd say MK2 is fiinally going to be detrhroned from the best MKgame at long last.

Well I think that MK:D will exceed my expectations if:

- Kitana is one of the playable characters in MK:D.
- They allow the 'Death Traps' to end the whole match.
