No, but not because of gameplay, because the media paid so much attention to it, since it was at the time, the goriest game on market, and you got kids imitating moves killing/hurting other kids because their lazy parents aren't watching them. And what some other person said is true, the fighting era is gone, now its all about those goony RPG/On-line multiplayer quest thingies.

With games like Tekken and SC sucking really bad...

Ummm...maybe Tekken, but Soul Calibur suck? Hardly. Best fighting game out there now, period.

just wait till mkd comes out then decide which is better but mk2 stands the test of time and has proven it but mkd is not out yet therefore i am gonna wait. but for now mk2 is the best mk game of all time. its legendary, thats y it was rated the best fighting game of all time. just like 70% of the people said so just wait. mkda had a lot of hype but did not live up to it because of lack of characters, fatalties and quality gameplay.

MKDA has already surpasses MK2 in terms of gameplay and story. MKD is the icing on the cake, then MKD will perform a finish him on MK2 and that's the end of MK2 cuz there will be a new MK2.

MKDA is my favorite MK, so MKD is digital paradise for me.
