I think he was one of the cheapest characters ever. I still like him though. They should revamp him and make him more original like they are doing to Ermac. Can someone give me a quick rundown of Rain's story? Wasn't he orphaned in Edenia?

his storyline has potential-- I think Rain will be seen again-- maybe not in MK deception though.

He has potential to come back, just as much as Ermac had. I definitly think we will see him in a future installment. They can easily change his look, story, moves, etc to make him a more distinct character just like the did Ermac in MK:D...

Yeah he was born in Edenia or something, and when he grew up he was Kitana's body guard or something. Is he Human? Or is he immortal like ermac and scorpion.

Heres Rain's Story:

Rain - Born of Kitana's former world of Edenia, Rain was smuggled away from the realm as a small child shortly after Shao Kahn's takeover. Thousands of years later he resurfaced. His allegiance belonging to Kahn, he chose to betray his homeland rather than suffer at the hands of Kahn's extermination Squads. Rain fought valiantly for the emperor, but it would be Kahn's own step daughter, Princess Kitana, who turned Rain against him. Like Kitana, Rain's origins also came from their former realm of Edenia. He learned that his father was once a general in Edenia's army and died at the hands of Shao Kahn himself. Enraged at the truth about his history, he joined Kitana in aligning with the Earth Realm Warriors. But his allegiance came under question when he mysteriously disappears during an extermination squad attack. To prove his loyalty he embarked on a suicide mission in an unsuccessful attempt to destroy Shao Kahn.

So i guess Kahn killed him. It wouldnt make much sense to bring him back since hes dead.

I think he was pretty good, i liked him better than any other ninja. He at least had his own original moves. He threw a water ball. The lightning thing. At least he was a little original. Not like some other like Human SMOKE. He had the exact same moves as scorpion. The spear, the teleport thing. Everything.

scorpion is a specter. ermac isnt! and rain is the #1 guy i want to be in deception and i think he has a good chance of returning but he may not be announced cuz they may want him to be a secret till u unlock him. wich would be awsome. but the reason y i want rain back is cuz he was really kick ass in mk3 (besides his fucked up round house kick) and he wasnt one of my least favs then but i think a improved 3-d rain could become one of the best chars of all time. only reasons y i didnt like him in mk3 was cuz i thought his rh kick was lame and i thought he was actully gay cuz of his color lol

I agree, thats why i dont like Smoke as a ninja because he was a rip off of scorpion. Now as a cyborg, he has a trident spear, invisibility, and he can teleport, and he isnt a ninja. Well hes a cyber ninja.

It never said Kahn killed him, we assume, but its not for certain. It says "in an unsuccessful attempt to kill Kahn"... maybe it means just that, an "unsuccessful attempt". He could have escaped with his life, or he could have been put into imprisonment, or he could have attacked Kahn and not have killed him... So Rain can return...

Yeah, he might of just realized Kahn was too powerful for him, and he just turned back.

Maybe he will return. Wasnt he kitanas bodyguard or something. He is from edenia. So he could be kitana's bodyguard or something who knows.

Rain could be back, I hope as a semi-insane evil general of the Dragon King's forces or something. Maybe with Shao Kahn.

It could be that Rain was abducted by Quan Chi on the way to Shao Kahn's fortress, and they used his body to host the soul of Reiko, who was killed in a battle with the Elder Gods, explaining why the costues are similar.

It could be anything. Maybe he was wiped out by an attempted nuclear bomb strike from Kano? Or maybe he was chopped up by Baraka and served to Motaro as lunch?

Noone knows, but I expect when Deception rolls around, we will find out.

Well, if ermac can return, i dont see why rain cant. Alot of people i know are huge rain fans, just like how others are fans of ermac and noob.

I dont care that much for him returning, but it would be interesting to see what his story would be and where he has been all this time. If he does return though, they have to give him a completely new look. Perhaps like a samurai.

I always imagined Rain as having more of a "magic-meets-ninjitsu" look to him. Whatever the hell that is.

I typed it out from one of the Strategy guides I found... Just go to any good MK site and it should have character or warrior bio's im sure...
