Does anyone think all the revived obscure characters are gonna vanish again after MKD?

I appreciate Boon for bringing back the old favorites, but if he revived them only because fans wanted them back, do you think this will be their only shot? Are we gonna have to wait another 9 years after this to see Sindel? Kabal? Smoke?

I don't know, if it's only for the fans, then their time will most likely expire after MKD. The only character I can imagine returning after everything is said and done is Ermac. They obviously put a lot of effort into him, and he appears to be a highly intrinsic part of the story now.

Thoughts?

I’d find it silly to just have them return for one game and then disappear again. The effort they’ve put into them all just doesn’t justify it imo. The majority will most likely end up back again in MK7. Some won’t.

they'll hopefully wait for feedback first, see what people think of the new versions of characters, with rumours flying about because of this programme i don't whether Kabal and Smoke will look really good or will have been ruined.

Hopefully. I really want Nightwolf to become a major player in the MK world. This may be the last chance he gets if he plays terrible and has a terrible story.
The characters allways get left behind. Quan Chi, Kenshi, BoRaiCho and Li Mei are the only recent examples that haven't been left behind.

Nightwolf is also one of my favourite and now he has a lighting attack I believe raiden gave him powers to protect earth from the dk.

It all depends whether fans react positively to them this time. Nightwolf especially was almost as hated as Stryker from MK3/MKT, and Sindel was never a real fan favourite (at least to play as). The ninjas are getting unique looks, rather than being pallete swaps, so it looks like the MK team is serious about at least giving these returning, less established characters a real chance.

Those who prove to be popular will most likely stick around for future MK's, maybe even taking bigger roles in the storyline. These guys are getting a big chance, many having been chosen over more popular, more important characters. Any who fail to get fans acceptance this time round will probably be killed or retired, with little hope of returning.

If I had to take a guess, I dont think Sektor will be coming back after this one. The way I see it, either his tekunin army takes over japan or gets destroyed completely by Sub-zero or Smoke.

I think Nightwolf will stay after this installment of the series. I have faith that he will be one of the better characters in the game and hope that fans will actually appreciate the character that he is.

No one vanishes!! There is a formula that Boon has stated a million times...

1. Keep the regulars Sub-Zero, Scorpion etc.

2. Make all new characters.

3. Bring back classic characters, constantly keeping them in a rotation, leaving out those that the fans never liked.

Everyone forgets that there are always new characters that get put into the rotation after their first game, so that's why it takes so long to see all your favorites again.

The best thing Boon can do is release another Trilogy style game after Deception, that is the only way everyone will be satisfied.

I hope he stays. Even though he is my favourite. He is looking to be one of the best characters in MK:De. His special moves seem good, his Styles look good and his look is a big improvement from MK3.

If the next game's on next gen hardware, i expect they'll either have a version with much the same gameplay, and all the characters (like mk:d, tekken tag), or something with improved game mechanics but not all the characters, and the game after that will have all the characters in.

I think Sindel will be around for a while. She might skip the next game or something, but she will definitely be back. I see her having a large role in the storyline of MK:D.

In addition to Ermac, I also think Noob Saibot will be in it for the long run.

i think that mk7 just might be the end of mk (goes to my room cries for a week comes back) because knoquest seems to be a way for midway to tie up all the loose ends for mk7 i think that mk7 will have every single mk charactor ever (including guys like tremor and noface) all fighting against each other in a sort of war
