Does it annoy you when they give to a character a move that 'belong' to somebody else?

For example, they gave Reptile invisibility to Smoke in MK3 and the list goes on.

Personnally I think that Liu Kand had a very cool and effective move set. The problem is that he is dead and if they would bring him back, I think it would not be smart. But it also means that his cool moves are gone...

Woud you like to see Kai return(for example) with some of Liu Kang cool moves(low fireball, flying kick, bicycle)? would it make Kai a bad ripoff or an improve character?

Personnally I think it would be a good way to bring back some of Liu's cool old school moves without screwing the story line. Since Kai train with Liu that could explain why he use the same moves(like Ken/Ryu for example)

DaYum rights. The teleknetic slam move was Ermacs signature move. Not only was it his best move, but he was the first teleknetic warrior in MK, with the first teleknetic move. I was dissapointed to see Kenshi having this move, i mean, come on now, he had a teleknetic push, teleknetic toss, and now he has ermacs teleknetic slam?! ARRRGH.

I hope ermac has his move back in deception. I also agree with your smoke/reptile theory.

Few Examples: (in case the old fighter didn't appear, and the new one "proprietor" appeared in MKDeception)

Baraka - Cannonball (from Kano)

Mileena - Ring Toss (from Sonya)

Ermac - Shadow Ball & Shadow Kick (from Cage) and Forceball (from Reptile)

Tanya/Li Mei/Nitara - Leg Scissors/Grab (from Sonya)

Rain - Lighting & Electrocution/Shock (from Raiden)

Scorpion - Flaming Skulls (from Shang Tsung)

Sektor - Net & Grenades (from Cyrax)

Reptile - Fireballs (from Liu Kang)

I hate hate HATE when other players have someone elses moves. Every single player needs there own moves and throws. And everyone needs there own fatalities. I don't want to see six characters have a head knock off, or a head blow up move. Or the worst body explode and body parts fly every where. Please lord let MK6 have new moves and fatalities

I don't like it either especially when it is like the characters signature move.

Well, I could see when it's part of the story, i.e. Mavado stealing Kabal's Hookswords, Ermac teaching Kenshi, and Smoke using the harpoon in vengance. But when they give them to someone for no reason... that's mildly irritating. Nothing I'd quit playing over.

The Street Fighter serie overused this technique to try to keep the game fresh.

example: Blanka and Necro(electric shield)

Balrog and Dudley(boxing moves)

the list goes on and on

You do realize that Balrog and Dudley have NOTHING in common right besides the fact they are boxers? Their special moves are completely different.

Anyway, yeah, it does kind of bother me when other characters "borrow" others special moves. Hopefully it won't happen in Deception.

I get annoyed when they do this. Its annoying seeing them with someone elses move speacially if its a move that that one character was known for. Like if someone new ever appeared with kitanas fans, that would really tick me off.

it personally doesnt anger me, but what is now going to confuse me is IF they do bring back liu kang, they cant really just bring him back. (spoiler) quan chi's ending was that after he killed off shang tsung all the spirits he ever obtained left his body, but then liu kangs spirit had gone into kano, giving him his powers. i dont know bout that due to kano is my favorite character in the game. so are they going to make kano with his original moves or branch it off with liu kang, or just make him liu kang?

i know smoke had the harpoon as part of his story, but why did he get all of scorpions old moves, plus stealing moves is not as bad as when charectures loose there old moves for no reason, IE scorpions teleport punch, and most of raidons moves

Yes, I hate it BIG TIME when a character steals another character's moves--it's like the MK team can't think of anything original anymore (which is why I am hoping they really are visiting this website and reading our ideas). Although I LOVED Deadly Alliance a lot, too many characters had "borrowed" moves:

BO RAI CHO: The Puke puddle resembled Sub-Zero's Ground Ice from MK2. And his Ground Stomp has the same effect as Jax's original Earthquake from MK2.

LI MEI: Her Klock Kick resemmbled Reiko's Flip Kick from MK4/MKGold.

SONYA: Her Flying Kick was just like Liu Kang's classic move from MK1-MKGold.

KENSHI: His Telekinetic Slam was taken from Ermac in UMK3/MKTrilogy.

SUB-ZERO: His Cold Shoulder move is really Shao Kahn's Shoulder Slam from MK2 when he was the boss. And this same move was later given to Nightwolf in MK3/UMK3/MKTrilogy.

RAYDEN: His Electric Rushing move resembles Shao Kahn's Shoulder Slam from MK2.

DRAHMIN: His Ground Punch move, while a different effect, is still an unblockable Earthquake-like move reselbling Jax's original MK2 move. And his Super Uppercut is too much like Johnny Cage's Shadow Uppercut move first introduced in MK2.

JAX: He stole Stryker's cool Machine Gun attack that Stryker gained in UMK3./MKTrilogy.

KITANA: Her changed Fan Lift move was too much like Sindel's Scream move from MK3/UMK3/MKTrilogy.

FROST: Her Slide is, of course, Sub-Zero's classic move from MK1.

NITARA: Her Unicorn Kick resembles Tanya's Splits KIck from MK4/MKGold.

REPTILE: His little Lizard Ball attack resembles Mileena's Roll Attack move from MK2/UMK3/MKTrilogy/MKGold.

The MK team really needs to avoid this in Deception. How hard is it for them to come up with new moves? The possibilities are endless!

I agree when they do stuff like that it kinda shows that the MK team may be running out of ideas and lost some of thier creativity. Everyone needs thier own original moves although some of them do kick ass, im kinda in the middle on that .
