Does Kitana have her soul and how can she possibly be saved?

Kitanas bio states that hse was ressurected by the Dragon King after she died. I was wondering if she still had her soul. For him to have control of her, she most likely doesn't. If this is the case, wouldn't that mean her body would decompose as it has no soul in it? Or, is there some other soul residing in her body, similar to the Liu Kano issue.

If this really is Kitana with her soul intact, then it seems she must be under some very powerful spells or magic that stops her memories from coming through. Now, what if Liu Kang, was to possess her body and save her by using his own memories of her and pushing them into her thoughts in order to make her remember again?

Or maybe she'll be saved upon the Dragon Kings demise. This might be the only way, unless they have to kill her once more.

What do you think the deal is and what will happen?

Who gives a shit? I don't want her to be saved at all. I hope she gets ripped to pieces and made fodder for the Dragon King. Also, I think your body is basically in physical suspended animation when your soul leaves in the MK world.

I think she still has her soul.
For one, Kitana has evil in her heart. She was once an evil assassin for Shao Kahn until she turned good. The Dragon King probably just reawakened the darkness inside her soul.
For second, Onaga just did to Kitana what Shao Kahn did to Sindel and Sindel was able to turn good. So Sindel is going to have to go through what Kitana went through in MK3 and try to turn her good again.

I agree with you here with Kitana still human( not zombie like) after Dragon King brings her back from the dead. I am sure that Kitana would have never willingly help Dragon King by any means. Like you I think somehow part of her ressucation , she must obey Dragon King, in Deception's case be a body guard. I think she 100% alive at the same time under Dragon King's power.

I don't know about the whole soul thing, maybe she's undead. Liu Kang can't have a soul unless Shang Tsung died. And who knows what happened to Kitana's soul when/if she was defeated.

I think Kitana will be saved by Sindel just like Kitana saved her in UMK3/MKT... Or like in the movies!!! A bit of talking... And slapping lol

lol You could very well have that wish depending on the storyline. And your theory there might be exactly why he body is still intact.

Excellent point. The Dragon King may have used the evil that resided in her heart to overpower the good. This would help in manipulating her.

And Sindel will know exactly how to save her daughter! It'll be interesting seeing how the Queen goes about her rescue attempt. Hopefully it won't end in tears.

HOw many people are resurrected in this game? I'm losing track.

I think Kitana dies, soul left the body. The question is more of what type of spell The Dragon King Cast to bring her back. It may have been just a re-animation spell. No Soul OR A soul conjuring spell (which would bring back the persons soul which would be placed in a new shell chosen by the spell caster or an adaptation of the persons original body etched from the memories of the person), Unless the Dragn King had Kitana's original body then cast a sould conjuring spell to bring back the actual Kitana at which point he could lace that spell with another or simply adapt it to make her his slave/bodyguard.

I'm guessing the last.

Kitana would never willingly help the Dragon King. That we can be certain of. Maybe depending on who resurrects a person, that person has the power to decide what they want a person to do. In this case, instead of using magic, the Dragon King simply keeps Kitana as his soldier. If she is fully alive, this may have an effect on her behaviour and how she goes about things.

Shang Tsung doesn't need to have died for Kangs soul to be released. And good point about Kitanas soul. I'm surprised Shang never actually consumed it.

Well she never actually lost her memory before. But she did get brainwashed in MKII and believed she was just an assassin for Kahn along with her sister. So it's kind of like losing your memory, no? (she got her memory back in her MKII ending)

And I don't think she's ever had evil inside of her. She killed people because she was brainwashed not because she's evil at heart (though it would be cooler).

I am hoping that they make sindels quest harder. It shouldn't be an easy task. Kitanas certainly wasn't. Sindel will have her abilities tested this time around.

Hey Greenroom! smile

We can see that Kitana has her own body from the bio pics. The bodies of the Earth warriors were all outside Shangs palace. I believe your spell theory could very well be accurate. Kitanas ressurection is just a taste of the Dragon Kings overall power and we have no idea what kind of magic he wields. He could easily have put the other Earth warriors under his control.

Shao Kahn raised Kitana since she was a infant. And he raised her to be evil and loyal. He would never had the need to brainwash her.

Shang would need to be wounded severely for that to happen I guess. We saw how this worked in Quan Chis MKDA ending, although Shang was fully killed there.

Liu Kang being soulless works, but that would mean Shang still has his soul. Kangs body is up and alive and it must be under someones control if he has been awakened. So who has brought him back? Maybe Raiden. Or maybe Shang Tsung has restored Liu Kangs soul, but somehow has him under his control.

I believe Kitana turned upon finding out how her mother died and seeing Mileena for what she really was. Kahn destroying her home realm was another thing that could have caused her turning. I do not believe she was ever brainwashed.

Im pretty sure its kitana 100% w/ her soul intact, shang didn’t consume it. probably because he was in, fight after fight vs. the earth warriors, raiden, quan, and then the D.K.

I have a great feeling that kitana is/will be, deceiving the dragon king..

About kitana’s look in Mk deception, we have not actually seen it yet... the trading card look is not her new look... if u guys remember raiden has his old Mk da costume on in his card/bio video...
Hopefully soon we get to see her new look, but im not asking for that, ill wait...
Im just glad she is in...

It is highly possible this happened. Not only does it seems obvious she was brainwashed during her infant life, but it is also stated in the comics, hinted in the games. It’s the second time it happens.

well thats ur opinion.. i think its a good story.. plus we have not seen the middle or finish of it..

Dan its really lame that everytime something bad is mentioned about Kitana you go and flame Sonya. Is not needed, it was not necesary, so please stop.

but anyway, i'm hoping theres not to many ressurections and such in MKD. IMO Kitana is better off good than evil. We might have an evil Liu Kang and now Kitana!? And people are speculating that even Raiden might have a twist to him. Jeebus, there should be a limit.

BTW, your theory is the best one yet XiahouDun84. Perhaps the light evil tint in Kitanas heart is once again awakened.

I think Kitana definitely has her Soul in tact.

I also think that upon resurrection, the recipient of life has to obey the person who gave them life.
Sindel killed herself because she new the evil Khan was doing and the torment he was putting her through so she wouldnt have willingly fought with him in MK3/UMK3/MKT.
Similarly, Shang Tsung Resurrected Mileena in UMK3/MKT and she obeyed him like in MK2 as he was her creator. But, in MKGold, Shinnok ressurected her, so if Shao Khan/Shang Tsung were her masters then why did she obey Shinnok? (okay theyre all evil but still she has to take orders form her master.)

I just thought about it some more and changed my mind a little. I'm still gonna say that i dont like the constant ressurections, but Kitana being EVIL could make her story very interesting and new. This can bring alot of twists in her story, involving Liu Kang, Sindel, Jade, Mileena, Kung Lao, ETC.

I love it. I'm currently thinking of ideas that would bring great jumps to her story, and ideas of how she could possibly decieve everyone else. I must say.......Kitana being evil PWNZ!

But i hope her soul is still in her body. I dislike this whole "soul doing this, doing that", "soul leaving body", "ressurection", ETC.

I'd love to know Kitana can decive the Dragon King in the state she is in. She is in no position to do so, unless she really does have her soul and memories intact, allowing her to plan a deception of her own.

Hopefully they'll show her new look. It will hopefully give clues to what she is up to.

Dan, queve is right. Stop hitting on Sonya. It's getting very tiresome. And it's a poor defence.

And I don't balme you for hating this story of Kitanas Queve. They should never have killed her and resurrected her. As much as I like her, if they had to kill her, she should have stayed dead.

I wonder if she is playable, i really hope she is and has a really cool evil look like Raidens. Before i didnt want Kitana to return at all because i thought she was so damn stupid in Mk:Da, she was boring and sucked too. Now that she is evil i think she could be really awesome. Lol how ironic is that now Sindel is good but then Kitana is evil. I bet she has her soul shes just corrupt kinda like Sindel was with Shao Khan. Thats my guess
