Does MKD have arch enemies

I know that title is confusing but I was just thinking...do the characters have arch enemies like in Dead or Alive where the characters fought someone that was somehow related to their story. And they had a little cutscene.
Ex.Ayane and Kasumi, Helena and Christie for those who are familiar with DOA.
Any thoughts?

I don't think you will be able to have a unique fight set up for you depending on who your arch enemy is but there are tons of arch rivals in Mortal Kombat period.

I find it surprising that mk doesn't have those little cutscenes like most figthing games. It would definitely increase the visuals but it would take too long.
