I was wondering that myself. Looking at the Dragon King's picture on the box cover, I cannot help but get the impression of Shao Khan's presence.

The dragon king is not shao kahn. shao kahn got his ass beat by shang tsung and quan chi, he died, get over it. and i think the dragon king is gonna be alot stronger than all the mk characters combined.(much less quan and shang). also it would be stupid because reptile deserves his own body, shao kahn deserves his own body, and the dk deserves his own body, it would be wrong to fuse them with other characters. dragon king+shao kahn=$0.00 so forget it.

I hope it's neither. What's with that? How can Reptile be the Dragon King??? So who's inside that f*ckin' egg???

maybe the thing in the egg was like an facehuger from "alien" it jumped into reptile, reptile exploded and the dragon king was born.

or aybe it fused with him like said in reptile's ending.

In MKDA, I'm pretty sure that it says somewhere that the Dragon King was going to kill the newborn dragon once the egg hatched. He would then drink it's blood and gain immortality. After his untimely demise, his priests moved the egg to the lava shrine, and prophesized the DK's return upon the egg hatching.

So, either:
A) The thing inside the egg is the DK, and when reptile walked in it enslaved Reptile.
B) Reptile is now the DK's body. But looking at pics of the DK, that is unlikely.
C) The original DK's corpse was reanimated, and Reptile was enslaved by him once the egg hatched.

I think it's D.none of the above. LOL.

Hey, all I meant was that when I looked at the box, I couldn't help but get the impression of Shao Khan, not that he IS Shao Khan. I mean, look at it. Big shoulders, similarly shaped helmet in a way....it's kinda easy to get that idea.

Mabye he's Shao Kahn's father, just like Mobster_For_SATAN said. That would explain why they look so similar.
