That is cool news. They'll probably bash the game, but maybe show us something new. I haven't seen the Scarface issue, but if I had to guess I would say it's the September issue.

odds are it will be a "hey we think this series sucks but we got some money so we have to do our best to preview it without hinting that we hate it" type of story.

The one with scarface is the october issue. I think they ususally do issues two months in advance.

I just got my EGM issue with Scarface on it, and read the things for next months issue. It says Mortal Kombat Deception, reviews for PS2/Xbox/GC

yeah i got the new EGM mag yesterday they are probably just going to bash the game some way.

Aijirikowik (did I spell that right? sorry if I didn't): It's under the list of games to be Previewed next month, ie the November issue. Not reviewed. But yeah, I'm assuming that the reason why they have it as PS2/XB/GC is probably because they know so little about the damn game and are so behind on news about it that they still think it's coming out on the cube.

Seriously, I don't know if EGM is still pooping their panties over losing the MK:DA exclusive about TWO YEARS ago, but not covering a sequel to a game that's sold over 3 million copies, in a series that's grossed over a BILLION dollars makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever. Either they were shut out on news, which I seriously doubt because any press members had access to their E3 booth right? So even without an interview with Boon or the MK team, they could've given a hands on preview after playing it, providing a decent amount of pictures from E3 and impressions. But no, we got one picture and their cute little mascot with a sad face or a constipated face, whatever, and Shoe whining about how puzzle kombat was a "cheap puzzle fighter rip off." No kidding Shoe! How's the rest of the damn game? You know, the other 95%?

I'm sorry, that was a full fledged rant, wasn't it? Arg. It just pisses me off that the majority of gamers who don't have EGM subscriptions aren't even going to see the preview in EGM (if they buy off the shelf) until the damn game comes out. That's a slap in the face in my opinion. Also, if they give an unfavorable preview, that could trip sales up right out of the gate. Now, I'm not a Midway sales rep or anything like that, and as long as I like the game, I don't care all that much how it does sales-wise, but when you like a game series, you almost kinda feel protective of it, right? Well, that's my problem I guess.

Either way, I wanted to pass on the fact that it's NOT the October issue having Scarface on the cover, the one dropping at the beginning of September in stores. The MK:D preview will be in the November issue, which will drop conveniently and uselessly on the first tuesday in October which is the day MK:D is released.

I don't know if they did that intentionally or by accident? But who knows, only they do. I like EGM but not for the fact that they can't get over the whole MK:DA thinger.
