i agree completely, i don't think women should have big clunky weapons, not being a sexist. women fighters look good uses a sleek and stealthy weapon, or even a flashy weapon.

like meileena has the sais, kitana had the steel fans, jade hade the staff, does are all light weight weapons that suit the female characters

it a little creepy when a women is wailing you with a huge hammer. it makes you wonder if there really a women.

I think there were plenty of distinctive weapons in MK: D and from the looks of it, they are having even more distinctive weapons. Here are some of my ideas.

Sindel or Li Mei: Whip

Smoke: Tri-Crescent blade (like in Crouching Tiger: Hidden Dragon)

Noob Saibot: Kusarigama

Tanya: Chakra

Quan Chi: Living Staff

Shang Tsung: Weapon that morphs from samurai sword to broad sword to scythe to staff...etc. It would match his own abilities though it probably couldn't be done similiar to his losing his own morphs game-wise. Example: For thoughs familiar with Onimusha, that type of a weapon that changes constantly.

or just quanchis living weapond can actully be used.. hmm.. except for swords we must also remember to make them fair for everyone... since putting in a gun for lets say striker is kinda cheap and unfair..

1 great thread and 2 i think smoke or tanya should have a very fast agile weapon let smoke be the only actual ninja with a ninja weapon!

I like weapons that are built in like Baraka. If they made similar styles like tentacles, transformable limbs, backpacks..

Well, I think the characters should have their own weapons for the rest of their "lives"!

TANYA: she should have TWO SHARP METAL BOOMERANGS! Or a WHIP ( that'd be sexy, huh? )

KENSHI: Keep the Katana, it suits you, big guy! ( though the katana's moves should be a little different from the Mugai ryu's (sorry if I mispelled) )

NOOB SAIBOT: he should have a scythe, because of the whole Noob's a shadow thing

KITANA: IF she's back, her fans should be more like the ones in the MK:A movie ( those seem a LOT deadly!!!), even though I liked her fans in MK:DA

ERMAC: I like his exotic axe

NIGHTWOLF: make his Tomahawks glow green!

More than the Kwan Do IMO ... though the Kwan Do is good too!

Wow Kabal, that weapon is sweet! I agree with most of the people on this board about the originality of weapons in MK, or the lack thereof. I'd like to see some more exotic weapons like the one Kabal posted etc.

My thoughts:

Sub Zero: Five or six different types of blades that he makes out of ice. They all have most of the same core moves, except for a few small differences. Every time you switch to his weapon style, he makes a weapon at random. Kori Blade, long sword, schimitar, samauri sword etc etc.

Scorpion: Elastic Shurukins: Stars on wire similar to his spear, but he can throw the stars, pull the opponent around, tangle them up, tie them up, slash them, etc etc.

Smoke: Living metal. He should have something that can changes forms. Something liquid that he can throw to blind his enemy or have them get stuck to the ground, and something solid that can change forms and shapes. Not a sword mind you, but something that continuously morphs. Something that looks similar to mercury.

Just some thoughts.

i like that whip, it would be cooler if it had spikes on it,

an idea i was thinking about was some character have weapons all ready, why give them somthing eles.ex.
kung lou does not need a broad sword, he has a freaking razor sharp hat on his head, why can't that be his weapon, steel hat fighting style

same for scorpion, why not have his weapon just strictly be his spear,slash and short stabs.

for elemently character, i will use blaze, his weapon should be a torch or a stricking fireball,
it would work for raiden to, his weapon would be a lightning rod, or a lightning bolt.

I'll try to find a cooler whip maybe with spikes.

Sub Zero carries the goddamn Dragon Medallion, he can make anything out of ice...Why not Ice Shurikens?

a knife... a simple big cooking knife can be very scary and would be perfect for a sealth character.

An idea for Tanya's weapon, how about the boomerang used by Yuffie in FF7

Another great weapon for MK would have to be a huge butcher knife (or something like a huge sword used by the Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2),it would be perfect for someone who is a crazy or insane.
