I love the idea with this, bashing through a wall, fighting and landing in a different arena. Except where the DoA series made it so you fall off a rooftop and land in the streets. MKvsDC makes it so you land and the arena looks exactly the same. The graveyard stage is exactly the same when you land, same with the hell arena. There needs to be more diversity with it.

Any ideas?

I think this really speaks to the fact that it's a distraction, more than a feature. If there was an internal logic to it it would definitely be much more appreciated. If they're restricted, for whatever reason, to something that simplistic, at least the Netherealm stage is an example where there's something resembling a thoughtful use of the shortcut.

One would hope there isn't an endless repetition of rooftops in the Gotham levels. I think that would be too embarassing for consideration.
Descending to the streets is where this quicktime distraction can turn in to a more convincing feature.

I agree with Mick. Just something else to take even more points away from replay value. Hopefully this will change, cause it's pretty dang lame to be falling from point A to point B, and point B looks exactly the same as point A. Even in MK Armageddon they had different levels. Even though you were still in the same arena, it was a different portion of it, and was different from the platform on which you were initially fighting. Now, if they can't include that in this new next gen game while it was prominent on last gen MK titles, that isn't saying much for the game honestly.
