I want to see the return of the character unique poses from the early MK games. They were the bomb. I didn't like how in MK:DA they wern't unique and like 3 fighters had the same poses.
Does anyone agree with me?
Does anyone have any ideas for what the poses for certain characters should be

Unique finishing poses should return. Here are some ideas. I'd like some involvement with the camera!
Raiden: Raiden should do his original lightning pose, and this triggers some lightning which blasts the camera after it has been announced he wins.
He can also do a pose, an his fist can have some electricity surround it a little and the camera goes static!
He could even bounce around the arena in a happy and excited way in electrical form.
Cage: Signs the camera!
Poses for the camera and we see mysterious flashes as though his picture is being taken!
Scorpion: Hits the camera with his spear as it moves away and pulls in in towards him as he grimmaces.
Sub: Freezes the camera and then shatters it!
Kung Lao: Slices the camera with his hat!
I have more. I'll post them if you like these!

You're right, the way everybody shared the same pose was stupid, especially when Bo Rai Cho did the pose Kitana did! They should all have individual poses, maybe using their special abilities, or showing off their skills. A great thing would be interacting with their opponent's body (like Heihachi and Brian in Tekken 4) or saying something to their opponent which is now on the floor.

tgrant those were great especially the ones about Raiden
I just thought of one myself
Baraka:Crosses his spikes infront of his face and his glaring eyes are looking over them.

I agree. The exclusion of original finishing poses in MKDA was the result of Midway rushing the game. Hopefully they've been given more time this time around and we can look forward to new original finishing poses in MKD. Time will tell.

I have one for Ermac(if he's in, but lets not discuss that...)
He picks up the camera with his telekenetis and smashes it on the floor!
Lots more coming soon!

I also think that the fighting poses should come back. Here are some ideas.
Sub-Zero: He freezes the camera, and than shatters the lens.
Smoke(wishfull hopeing): He falls to his knees and short circuts. After, he regains control, stands up and says"Someday I will regain my humanity". He then disappears into thin air.
Scorpion: I liked what he did in his training video. He uses his rope dart to bring the camera in close, saying his famous "c'mere!" and it focuses on his face.(should have flaming eyes.)
Kenshi: He cuts up the camera lense and it falls to peices.
Sonya: She flashes the camera(yeah... right). She actually radios Jax to open a rip for her.
Raiden: He gets struck by lightning and then goes into a horse stance and shoots lighting through out the stage.

Excuse me, but if I ever see those moves as finishing poses in a Mortal Kombat game I'll go and kill the MK Team.
Those ideas were cool, here's some that I thought of. It would be cool if each character could have 2 different unique poses which would follow the lines of Soul Calibur two in a way.
Nightwolf- Grabs a pouch of sacred ashes from his waist and sprinkles them around him in a circle. The then sits there indian style with his Tomahawk right to him and meditates with his arms crossed and head pointed downward.
Ermac- Levitates himself into the air with his palms in the air and head up then slowly spins around in a 360 degree circle with a green aura around him. Ermac then stops spinning and stares into the camera with his white eyes.
Baraka- Lets out a blood curdling scream with drool spewing out of his mouth as he walks around the level pacing back and forth while swinging his blades furiously.

I defenitely agree with you there.
Pretty neat ideas. I see Baraka just extending his blades, extending his arms, reeling back and just roaring in animalistic fury.
Whatever happens, I just REALLY want them to ALL have different poses. I have been wanting that since...uh...MK4 I guess. Just having some share poses, ESPECIALLY the way they did it in MKDA, seemed really cheap to me.
I mean, is there a good reason Reptile, now unrecognizable as a human being, does the same winning pose as half the human warriors? Ugghhh.

I completely agree that there needs to be win poses after fatalities. I really missed that in MKDA, and I especially missed "Flawless Victory....FATALITY". Having "Flawless Victory" before Fatality was always a joy...made you feel that much better.
Tgrant I loved the Cage pose idea! It was the best!
subzerosbestmate I really like your idea on Ermac. Pretty cool.
I think of:
Sonya: She kisses the camera (or blows the purple poison mist) and you can see the mark of her red lips in the screen, then as if the kiss was poison, the camera will start to shake and brake into many little peaces.
Mileena: She does some fast spinning dance with her Sais.

DITTO
Scorpion: *Pulls off a Kane and lets fire erupt around him*
Baraka: *Extends his blades and scratches them agiasnt the floor..causing a nail on chalkboard sound*
Sub-Zero: Raises his arm in the air...Viva la Lin Kuie
Mileena: *Twirls her sais around in quick motions before revealing her face for a quick second and then stops to pose*
Ermac: *Simply dissappears in a green flame, but the camera soon begins to levitate*

Night-Wolf: Keeva(spirit wolf) jumps into him, Begins to glow with a blue flame a la Necromancer from Diablo2.
Stryker: shoots up the camera with machine gun.
Cyrax: Releases helmet clasp(steam comes out) dials a rift on his arm device, steps through rift.
Baraka: Retracts his blades, crosses arms and laughs.

some of you people have great ideas
but most of them revolve around the camera.
sektor(if he's in) should still have that kick ass pose from MK3

Is this a fatality idea thread? My God... People are coming up with complicated ideas that would take like 30 minutes just to declare the victor. Give me a break. Make them short and sweet, not long and show off every ability one character has. Pffft. I agree with whoever said they'd kill the makers if those were passed as victory stances. Some of the people on these forums I could never see programming a massive video game.

Awesome topic, man! I agree with the idea of unique character finishing poses. Midway should have fun with it, as mentioned by all the great ideas listed here. Keep 'em coming!
Kung Lao's pose in Deadly Alliance was pretty badglass (badbutt in a dirty term), if you ask me. Bring it back and make it even more flashier!
Did anyone see the Super Bowl? When CBS did the player introductions on the screen (not before the game, but the one where they use graphics), one of the Carolina Panthers (a brotha, of course!) did this really fly strut walk toward the screen. He did the following:
1. Begin to walk toward the camera.
2. Stated his name.
3. Pulled the corners of his shirt (top chest area), like he was showin' off his wears.
4. Did this really tight arm cross like a rapper.
If Midway could incorporate a pose like this (minus the name stating), into MK Deception, we should be paying them.
M4C, holla if you hear me!

No this is a thread for talking about the poses a character does after he/she has won the fight.

Man, some of you guys are a critical about the ideas of others. Oh well. I thought the lack of unique win poses in MK:DA definitely sucked. I'm really hoping they return, but not in the form of same old same old poses that characters have been using since the first two games. I don't mind classic poses for characters if there are going to be multiple poses per character in the game though.
Johnny Cage: Signs the back of the fallen victim, puts his foot on the victims back, runs and runs his fingers through his hair all cool like, before putting his hands on his hips and smiling all pround and confident.
Kano: Pulls out one of his axes and grunts while sliding it down the side of his cheek, leaving a small but visible line of blood.
Reptile: Gets on the ground, all lizard like, and starts gnawing playfully at the body of his victim before he looks up at the camera as the voice says "reptile wins."
Shang Tsung: Shoots green rays up to the sky before they they come back down in the forms of the souls from MK:DA, and they return to his body.
Baraka: Retracts one blade, points at camera with it, makes the slit your throat motion with the blade, then crosses his chest with both blades and smiles.
Sub-Zero: Since the ice is taking him over, he could try to freez something, then grab it his hand in pain, before looking at the camera and raising it to the sky.
Sonya: Walks away from the camera all sexy, turns her head and smiles, then smacks the camera away with one of her kali sticks, while yelling. Then says "hmph!"
Quan Chi: The red tatoos all over his body start to glow, he folds his arms, lowers his head a bit, and laughs quietly under his breath.
Kenshi: He takes the red blindfold off his head while the camera is heading to a close up of his face, but instead goes all the way through one of his eyes into blackness.
Just some ideas off the top of my head. I know some might seem long, but in my mind any of these could be done quickly within 3 or 4 seconds, which is how long the poses normally are.

TGRANT, YOU HAD SOME REALLY GOOD IDEAS!
I agee, but I believe they have listened to us complain about their individuality and end poses, I believe they will make those changes give them some similar stances like they did in MK2.
I hope no one has the same signiture moves and that they all look cool and genuine instead of like in MKDA, some of the characters were jumping up down like a boxer and doing stuff that really didn't fit them nor MK style.
